Emmerdale viewers saw the moment Dawn Taylor finally met her mother Rose on Friday night, after decades apart.

Dawn was left reeling after bumping into a woman at the hospital who turned out to be her estranged mother. She learned of her mother's identity from her dad Will Taylor, leaving her shocked and issuing some harsh comments.

On Thursday, Will find himself reunited with his ex-wife decades after he last saw her, when she walked out on him and young Dawn. Decades later, and Will was called to the hospital as Rose's next of kin, leaving him baffled while also horrified to see Rose again.

While he did his best to keep this visit and Rose away from his daughter Dawn, an accident with Dawn's baby son Evan led her and partner Billy Fletcher to the hospital, the same one where Rose was after a fall. Just as they prepared to leave, Rose commented on how adorable Evan was, as she prepared to discharge herself.

Suddenly Will walked in and saw them together, and he assumed Rose had realised who she was. He warned Rose to leave Dawn alone, asking what she was playing at but both Rose and Dawn were confused.

Rose had no idea the woman in front of her was her estranged daughter, and equally Dawn had no idea she was talking to her mum until Will said so. He confirmed their identities to each other and Dawn was stunned.

She ended up confronting her mother for leaving her all those years ago, saying she'd wanted to speak with her just to tell her she "despised her" for what she did to her and her dad. She then declared Rose wasn't there for her when she needed her to be, and she didn't need her now.

Rose was gutted as Dawn sped off, claiming she had no reason to stay. Rose blamed Will for this, but Will pointed out she ruined any chance with Dawn herself when she abandoned her as a child - but will she manage to get her chance with Dawn?
