Meghan Markle has been savagely mocked online after sending Kris Jenner a basket of her new lifestyle brand's "garbage" strawberry jam accompanied by "wilted" lemons.

The Duchess of Sussex dispatched delightful baskets brimming with American Riviera Orchard jam to her A-list pals this week, with Kris Jenner being one of the exclusive 50 recipients chosen to sample Meghan's latest venture.

The reality TV mogul received the jam in a charming wicker basket, which also contained several lemons, greenery, and a personal note.

Kris Jenner, aged 68, took to Instagram Stories to showcase the considerate present to her 52 million followers, tagging and expressing gratitude to the brand for the gesture, the Mirror reports.

While Jenner seemed to value the gift, social media users were less than impressed with its appearance, slamming Meghan for delivering what they deemed as poor quality produce to the wealthy celebrity.

A scathing Reddit thread saw one individual comment: "Good grief Kris Jenner is worth billions but could not afford some fresh lemons, these look like she pulled them out of the garbage they look rotten."

Another person remarked: "Must of been a late delivery...lemons look wilted? "

One critic commented: "Does Meghan truly expect Kris Jenner to be impressed by strawberry jam in a bowl of bruised lemons and shredded paper?

"This whole business venture is a lemon. Does anyone believe she'll ever actually sell jam? "

Another scoffed: "Meghan Markle could not sink any lower. Nobody decent will have anything to do with her."

This follows Meghan's recent announcement last month when she revealed her latest business operation to be a lifestyle brand selling a variety of home and lifestyle items.

While the brand still retains an air of mystery, Meghan has stated that she will be trading strawberry jam, and it is speculated she may also put limited edition honey on the market.

PR expert Mayah Riaz spoke to The Mirror about her future predictions for the Duchess' brand, explaining that she anticipates the launch to include: "Jams, honey, she may possibly even create sauces and pestos."

She explained: "Essentially items which are seen as luxury and would sit well in hampers. They would also be ideal items for gifting - if you can get your hands on them."
