This being the age of instant information and analysis, the absolute worst thing you can be now isn’t too open or too defensive, it’s too predictable. Too rigid. Too one-dimensional.

Now there’s potentially something cleansing about being beaten in the manner of Derry last week. Like a colonic irrigation. Maybe not the most pleasant sensation while it’s happening, but ultimately it does you good.
