Coronation Street will see some shocking scenes next week - as one resident collapses.
Amid the huge drama with Roy Cropper's arrest, things get considerably tougher for him in prison as he awaits his trial, whilst the mystery surrounding Lauren continues to grow as the police are no closer to finding who really attacked - and potentially killed - her.
Elsewhere, Steve looks set to find love again following Tracy's decision to leave him whilst there is a new arrival in the Paul Foreman storyline, with his mum Bernie hiding a huge secret - but what is she keeping from her kids?
Shock collapse
There is heartbreaking drama next week when Roy Cropper collapses in a shock turn of events. This week, he calls the café to try and speak to Nina, but when Carla is handed the phone, she hangs up and hurries out.
Roy is clearly struggling in prison and once again, he has another flashback of Lauren approaching the café counter with Max, but what about the conversation is significant and what is he trying to remember? Roy is left frustrated when he is interrupted and loses his train of thought. Bobby tells Carla that Roy must have kept quiet about the false statement to the police, whilst in the waiting room, an anxious Nina waits for Roy for their usual visiting session.
When he doesn't show, she tells the guard she is expecting him and the officer lets himself into Roy's cell to find him collapsed on the floor. He is rushed to hospital and it is clear that he is struggling with all that's going on.
Lauren update
Roy is adamant there is something about a conversation between Max and Lauren that he needs to remember, and as he lies in hospital, Mary visits and urges him to keep thinking about it in the hope it'll come back to him.
He recalls being in the café with Max and Lauren and hearing them discussing something, and whilst he knows its significant, he can't quite remember what it is. Could this be what Roy needs to get himself out of jail?
Nina reveals that the police are planning to film a reconstruction of Lauren's last known movements in the café. Amy offers to mention it on her radio show to raise awareness of what is going to happen.
Elsewhere, Roy calls Dee-Dee from prison and tells her that if they can trace Lauren's necklace, they could trace who her mystery boyfriend is. Will they be able to uncover who she was dating, and thus who is responsible?
New arrival
There is trouble for Paul next week when his dad Denny arrives on the Cobbles. Paul does a radio interview with Amy, where he discusses motor neurone disease and society's lack of regard for disability, but as he gets carried away, he accidentally swears.
Later in the week, Paul, Billy and Gemma can't believe how much people want to help with the MND crowdfunder. Bernie is horrified as a man comes up to tell her he heard Paul on the radio and he had no idea what was happening with his son. She lies and says Paul is already dead, but Denny doesn't believe her and heads upstairs with her to see a shocked Gemma and Paul. When Denny tells Paul that he looks great for someone that's already supposedly dead, Bernie freezes.
Bernie is clearly hiding something and is worried Denny will reveal all about her past. Paul invites Denny to watch a film in the flat, and Billy reluctantly leaves the pair of them alone. Later, Denny heads out for ice cream, leaving Paul alone in the flat. He sees Gemma and begs her for a chance to meet his grandchildren, leaving him distracted.
Back at the flat, Paul has a coughing fit and is left struggling to breathe. He calls for an ambulance but when he gets through, he drops the phone. Denny returns to the flat and is left stunned when he sees Paul barely conscious. Will Paul be ok?
Elsewhere, it's clear Bernie is hiding something as she uneasily searches through an old shoebox of letters and photos. leaving Dev perplexed - but what is she looking for and what is she hiding from her children?
Steve's lucky in love
Steve has turned to dating apps in the hope to find love after splitting from Tracy Barlow. In the cab office, he tells Tim that he's got three matches after joining the dating app that Abi suggested. There is a lady called Maggie that has caught his eye, but a sexist comment from Kevin leaves Abi frustrated as she fumes over what he said.
Maggie agrees to date in the Bistro for lunch. Is Steve's luck finally changing - or will this romance end before it begins?
Later, he meets another woman for lunch in the Rovers but he is left confused when he arrives to see Carole with three other friends. One of the ladies invites Tim to join them and when Sally calls at the pub and sees Tim with the woman, what does she have to say?
Steve is left feeling disheartened by dating apps, but he sees a message from Demi and he has a change of heart. Steve is convinced that Demi is the one, and he tells Amy that Demi could be the one. It's clear there's chemistry between them when they meet up.
New romance
It's not only Steve that seems to be finding love this week, as there is clearly something between Alya and Adam. Next week, Alya arrives at the solicitor's office, as she needs to pick up a client file. Adam is clearly struggling with the admin and later suggests to Dee-Dee that they should pull out of the joint work with Fabian's, but she accuses him of being petty and tells him to get on with it.
When Rich and Alya arrive for the meeting with Adam, he is shocked to learn that Alya is going to work in Dublin. He's determined to impress Alya - but will he or will she not take any prisoners after all that happened between them before?
The next day, Adam and Alya work together on the joint case and it's clear they're both smitten for each other. It takes a moment but finally Adam admits he likes Alya and the pair kiss, just as Rich arrives in the office.
