Arsenal wonderkid sets new record in incredible 9-0 win over Norwich

Arsenal look like they have a serious talent on their hands after his incredible, record-breaking showing in a 9-0 thrashing for the Under 18's.

Jack Wilshere's side blitzed Norwich City at the Colney Training Centre and 16-year-old sensation Chido Obi-Martin produced a simply breathtaking display.

The forward scored SEVEN of the nine goals the Gunners, bagging them in a 64-minute period.

He opened the scoring inside one minute and had a hat-trick by the time the 17th minute rolled around.

Obi-Martin's tally for the game was six when he made it a double hat-trick in the 54th minute.

Andre Annous and Dan Casey got in on the act late on but it was all about Obi-Martin, who now holds the record for the most goals scored in an U18 Premier League season for Arsenal.

The previous holder was Folarin Balogun, who now plies his trade with Monaco in Ligue One.

Obi-Martin has netted 29 goals this term and it was only two weeks ago when he scored five in the same game for the Under 18's.

Incredibly, his seven-goal haul isn't even his most impressive tally this term.

At Under 16 level, Obi-Martin lashed in TEN goals in a 14-3 win over Liverpool.

The wonderkid has played for England and Denmark at youth level and is therefore eligible for both countries.

He was involved in first-team training back in November and recent reports from Tipsbladet claim that the club are looking to tie him down to a new long-term contract.

Part of the arrangement could be that he earns a spot on the bench for the first-team side.

“I would like to stay at Arsenal for a long time," Obi-Martin told Danish site bold.DK earlier this month.

"It's a good club, I can feel that I'm getting much better in training. There are a lot of good people and good coaches, so I'm really happy to be there.

“Maybe I will have to play permanently at Under-21 from next season. There aren't that many strikers in the squad so it will be a good opportunity for me. Arsenal is a club that gives young talents the opportunity to play.”
