Three people were hurt as a brawl involving weapons broke out in a Birmingham street, police have confirmed. Weapons were brandished as the disorder erupted in Northfield, leaving all three victims with head injuries.

A huge police presence was captured in a dramatic image from the scene on Saturday night (April 27). Six marked police cars could be seen lined up on either side of Frankley Beeches Road shortly before 7pm.

Four males were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder - including a schoolboy aged 15. Police, called to "reports of a disorder involving weapons", also arrested men aged 19, 20 and 30.

They remain in police custody while enquiries continue. Anyone with information has been urged to contact the force as they appeal for witnesses.

A spokesman for the force told BirminghamLive: "We were called shortly before 7pm last night (Sat) to reports of disorder involving weapons on Frankley Beeches Road in Northfield. Three people were taken to hospital with non life-threatening head injuries.

"Three men, aged 30, 20 and 19 and a 15-year-old boy were arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of violent disorder. They remain in custody as we carry out further enquiries.
