Brooklyn Beckham has been whipping up a storm once again in the kitchen, with the eldest son of Victoria and David Beckham attracting more spicy commentary on his cooking skills.
The social media chef, who has previously said he "wishes the haters well" when it comes to critiques of his culinary creations, shared a new cooking tutorial with his Instagram followers on Monday, with the 25-year-old's latest guide recipe savaged by his usual critics.
Dress in a white vest, gold necklace, rings and an Inter Miami (his famous dad's football team) baseball cap, Brooklyn was all smiles as he filmed himself making a bunless burger and chips with produce from Chosen Foods and lashings of his trusted avocado oil.
"Today I'm making a Flying Dutchman with Chosen Foods," Brooklyn told viewers, before going on to cut up some potatoes, "two similar sized" onions and frying his chips in "100% avocado oil" and pressing his meat on a grill. The celebrity offspring then drizzled some avocado oil on his sliced onions before constructing his Flying Dutchman.
While some of the former aspiring photographer's fans had nice things to say in the comments underneath Brooklyn's latest Instagram tutorial, with one describing him as an "incredible chef", the majority of viewers indulged in "hater" style comments Brooklyn has become accustomed to receiving since embarking on his career venture.
"It’s burger and chips you melt ….this guy needs a hobby," one Instagram user scorned in the comments, with another telling the former wannabe footballer: "You just made burger and chips [laughing face emoji]." "Untalented child of beautiful parents," a third brutal follower wrote, with another quipping: "What has life come to… I’m watching Brooklyn Beckham try to cook a burger."
Others took the chance to make quips about McDonalds thanks to Brooklyn's latest recipe involving some burger flipping. "He could get a job at McDonalds," one unimpressed viewer quipping, with another retorting: "He couldn’t hold down a job at mc D." Some rushed to support the criticised star, with one of Brooklyn's fans telling trolls: "This not funny at all leave him alone."
Earlier this year, Brooklyn shared that wife of two years, Nicola Peltz, can't "cook to save her life" as he launched his own pop-up UberEats restaurant and recalled how he fell in love with cooking. Brooklyn began documenting his culinary escapades on social media during the lockdowns in 2020.
He's received light-hearted ribbing due to his seemingly straightforward tutorials for dishes like a sausage sandwich and a pasta prepared with store-bought sauce. But Brooklyn remains undeterred in his culinary pursuits, despite the backlash and constant ridicule online.
He told The Times in January: "Unfortunately, I've never done, like, a cooking class, but I'm obsessed with watching MasterClass [online classes with experts in their field]. I've always loved that. I've been lucky enough to do videos and hang out with all these different types of chefs, learning different things, like [the renowned US baker] Nancy Silverton, who is one of my favourite chefs. She's a really cool person."
The eldest Beckham child, who married billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz in April 2022, then revealed his first foray into cooking: "Probably Super Noodles - you can't go wrong with Super Noodles," he confidently stated after being asked what was the first thing he ever cooked in the kitchen.
Four years on from his first cooking tutorial being shared on social media, Brooklyn has seemingly found a lasting interest in the food industry, having previously dabbled in many other various professions. He originally attempted to follow in his famous father's footballing footsteps at a teenager, but was released from Arsenal's youth team in 2015 after not securing a scholarship at the academy.
Brooklyn, who also tried his hand at modelling and even appeared in a music video for The Vamps back in 2015, then landed an incredible opportunity to work as an assistant to renowned fashion photographer Rankin, but reports suggested that the crew were less than impressed with his abilities. His stint at Parsons School of Design was also short-lived as he decided to drop out.
"I really enjoyed [photography] for a couple of years. I love taking pictures of my wife. I still have all my film cameras, but now it's just more of a fun thing to do. They were kind of all hobbies," he shared with Variety in 2022, before stressing that he's now found his true passion - cooking.
"I was still trying to find that one thing I would literally die for, and I found that with cooking," he confessed while reflecting on his diverse career path. He also had a message for his critics: "I always wish them well, the haters," he stated. "I'm just doing what I love doing, staying healthy, being happy, and that's what it is. I hope they like my next video."
