Alabama's Jalen Milroe Responds When Asked If Jim Harbaugh, Michigan Cheated to Win

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe isn't interested in the conspiracy theory that Michigan cheated to win the College Football Playoff semifinal game this past season.

During an appearance on the Bussin' With The Boys podcast (h/t Nick Kosko of On3.com), Milroe was asked if he thinks Michigan's sign-stealing scheme played a part in its victory over Alabama and he repeatedly responded, "It don't matter, they won. They won. It don't matter, they won."

Milroe and the Crimson Tide fell to the Wolverines 27-20 in overtime. On the final play of the game, Alabama faced fourth-and-goal from the four-yard line when Milroe took a low shotgun snap and ran a quarterback draw that came up short.

The redshirt junior was asked if he would have thrown the ball had he received a perfect snap, but he again didn't delve into hypotheticals:

"We'll never know. I'll be real like, that truly made me really love the coaching staff because you can see how much they believed in me. It is probably one of the most impactful plays of our whole season. And the ball's in my hands on the last play of the game. That speaks a lot about our coaches that believe in me. So I took it as a positive although we came out short."

Alabama is set to enter a new era following the retirement of legendary head coach Nick Saban and the hiring of Kalen DeBoer. Milroe said the team is still confident in its chances to be in the national title picture.

"The biggest thing we've got to do is look from last year, what's some things we did positively, what's some things we did negatively?" he said during a recent appearance on The Paul Finebaum Show. "The biggest thing we want to do is turn our strengths even stronger and our weaknesses to a strength. I think we're doing a really good job attacking the day, coming in the building eager to learn and we have a great coaching staff that's going to put us in the position to be successful."
