Vanessa Feltz lands new LBC role after quitting TalkTV as Sangita Myska leaves station

Vanessa Feltz is set to join LBC with a brand new Saturday show, following her departure from TalkTV.

The seasoned broadcaster and This Morning star will be gracing the airwaves as part of LBC's revamped weekend lineup, taking over the 3pm to 6pm slot to provide listeners with her unique blend of opinion and in-depth analysis on pressing British issues.

Vanessa expressed her excitement about the move: "After a long and passionate courtship, I've finally succumbed to the allure of LBC. Actually I was powerless to resist. Global's dynamism is mesmerising and it is THE high octane station from which to broadcast, in this riveting election year. I can't wait to join the Global family and get cracking. Brace yourself for May 4th May the fourth be with you!"

Meanwhile, Sangita Myska will be departing from LBC at the end of her current contract, having been with the station for almost two years, reports the Mirror.

The Senior Managing Editor of LBC acknowledged her contributions: "We'd like to thank Sangita for her fantastic contribution to LBC and we wish her every success in the future."

This announcement comes amidst rumours and concerns from social media users regarding Sangita's absence from the airwaves.

She hasn't been on air since 14 April, with Ali Miraj, a former Conservative Party parliamentary candidate and pundit, filling in during her slot.

Speculation has been rife that Sangita's sudden departure was tied to an interview she had with an Israeli government spokesperson, occurring just a day after Iran's groundbreaking missile and drone attack on Israel.

The unexpected exit led to a flood of support, with nearly 25,000 individuals signing a petition urging LBC to reinstate her.

While Vanessa won't directly fill Sangita's shoes, she will play a role in the station's extensive schedule changes.

Ali has now permanently taken over Sangita's previously provisional slot. The line-up at LBC, including heavyweights Nick Ferrari, James O'Brien, Shelagh Fogarty, Andrew Marr, Tom Swarbrick, and Matt Frei, is set to welcome Vanessa.

Just last week, the This Morning host decided to part ways with TalkTV in light of their decision to venture into streaming platforms by this coming summer.

Explaining her decision, she said: "I've had the most fabulous two years at TalkTV. It's been a joy and a revelation to work on a fledgling station. Among many experiences, it was my honour to break the news of the passing of Her Majesty, the Queen to viewers and broadcast live throughout that momentous time."

"As TalkTV steps back from linear TV, it's time for me to also step back and focus on my other commitments and new projects ahead."

As part of their wider plans to alter their schedule, LBC confirmed the introduction of Vanessa's new show.

LBC has unveiled a fresh flagship Sunday morning politics programme helmed by The News Agents co-host Lewis Goodall, as the station prepares for a pivotal year in UK politics with an impending general election on the horizon.

Tom Cheal, LBC's Senior Managing Editor, expressed his enthusiasm: "Vanessa is a leading light in broadcasting who is outspoken, incisive and understands what matters to LBC listeners. We're delighted to have her on board."

He also praised Ali Miraj's impact: "Ali Miraj has made a huge positive impact on the LBC audience so we're very pleased he'll be with us twice over the weekend. As we gear up for an election year, Iain Dale, the man with his finger firmly on the pulse of Westminster, has another show to follow the fast moving world of politics. Iain will also front our local election coverage."

Cheal further highlighted the strength of LBC's political team: "He is a superb broadcaster and key part of LBC's political powerhouse capabilities, alongside Andrew Marr and Lewis Goodall's new flagship Sunday morning politics show."
