Eva Mendes says she was ‘foul-mouthed and smoking’ in her 20s as she defends having kids in her 40s with Ryan Gosling

EVA Mendes has admitted she was a foul-mouthed smoker in her 20s as she defended having kids in her 40s with Ryan Gosling.
Eva, 50, and the Barbie star began dating shortly after the pair filmed The Place Beyond the Pines in 2011.

The 2 Fast 2 Furious star, who shares two children with Ryan, 43, revealed, "I could not have raised kids in any other era of my life but now," in an interview with People.
She told the outlet, "When I was 40, it was a big deal for people when I was pregnant, and it wasn't for me. And then I was 42 and I was pregnant with my second one and people were like, 'Oh my God, you're going to be so tired. That's why people have kids in their 20s.' I was like, that's the most sorry, asinine thing I've ever heard."
Eva and Ryan welcomed their first daughter, Esmeralda Amanda, nine, in 2014 and their second, Amada Lee, eight, in 2016.
"It takes more patience. In my 20s, I shouldn't have even been around a child. I was just foul-mouthed and smoking. I could not have raised kids in any other era of my life but now, for sure," The Other Guys actress revealed.

When asked about her decision to take a step back from acting to raise her and Ryan's children Eva admitted, "It was the easiest decision I've ever made.
"I was older and I knew that my kids are going to be little once, and whatever I do or don't do right now is going to affect them the rest of their life."
Eva confessed that she "didn't feel that as pressure" but instead "felt it as clarity" to help her make the choice.
"Your career comes and goes but kids, yeah, that was easy for me," she stated before explaining, "They're just formative years. I wanted to be there for all of it."

"It all matters when you have two little people watching you all day long. It's frightening but it's good because it makes me try to be a better person every day," she told People.
HOME BODY
Years ago, Eva backed up that sentiment when she slammed a fan who told her to "get out more," as she clapped back she'd "rather be home" with her family.

The Training Day actress shared a throwback black and white photo of herself running on a beach on Instagram with the caption, "Went for a run on the beach this morning.
"No I didn’t. This picture was taken at least 15 years ago."
"Haven’t seen a beach this year. Haven’t been on a run this year," she concluded.
In the comment section, one fan chimed, "You need to tell Ryan to get you out more."
The actress fired back, "No thank you, I'm good. Rather be home with my man than anywhere else in the world."
PRIVATE LIFE
The model opened up and revealed why she steers clear of sharing photos of her family on social media as she wrote on Instagram, "I have always had a clear boundary when it comes to my man and my kids.
"I'll talk about them of course, with limits, but I won't post pictures of our daily life."
She continued, "And since my children are still so little and don't understand what posting their image really means, I don't have their consent.
"And I won't post their image until they're old enough to give me consent."
She also added: "As far as Ryan and I, it just works for us this way, to stay private."
While the La La Land actor prefers to keep their relationship out of the public eye, he did praise Eva in 2017 after winning a Golden Globe.
During this acceptance speech, he stated, "I would like to try to thank one person properly and say while I was singing and dancing and playing piano and having one of the best experiences I've ever had on a film, my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second, and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer."
Ryan added, "If she hadn't have taken all that on so that I could have this experience, it would surely be someone else up here other than me today.
