It's been another busy month at the courts across Leeds in April, with a number of criminals locked up.
Every month, hundreds of defendants pass through the doors of Leeds Crown Court and Leeds Magistrates' Court, and April was no different.
This month we saw sentences passed for a serving prisoner who made his inmate cry and headbutted an officer and a sick and depraved woman who sexually abused a young boy and filmed it in exchange for cash.

Below is a list of people locked up in Leeds in April.
Umer Abid
Dangerous driver Abid was jailed for eight years in April after being found guilty of causing the death of Yousaf Razzaq by dangerous driving and seriously injuring his wife Iqra Tabassum.
Abid was driving at 78mph in a 40mph zone at the time of the collision.
Faisal Kaiyam
Leeds drug dealer Kaiyam tried to disguise a stolen motorbike and pass it off as his own before being caught out. He was spotted by officers riding the stolen vehicle through Armley after it had been taken from outside an address in September 2021.
His offending did not end there, with officers in November last year spotting him carrying out a drug deal. When officers searched an address linked to Kaiyam, they discovered drugs including crack cocaine, heroin, amphetamine, cannabis, THC and pregablin alongside weighing scales, cash, an envelope of Scottish bank notes, dealer bags and a balaclava. The estimated value of the drugs found totalled between £1,888 and £2,968.
He was jailed for 30 months.
Anthony Cross
Serving prisoner Cross made a potential cellmate cry after refusing to bunk up with him.
He headbutted a prison officer during the row when she told him he was going to share his cell at HMP Leeds. Cross was already serving a sentence for robbery and was handed 12 months for the new offence.
Paul James King
Leeds fraudster King was jailed for two years in April after he left a company thousands of pounds out of pocket. He brought digital tickets that he sold on to fellow football fans before applying for refunds - both before and after the tickets had been used.
LNER said he bought more than £4,000 worth of tickets between November 2021 and May 2022, of which £3,246 were refunded but used for travel. Staff at LNER's customer contact centre became suspicious of his level of refunds and his reasons for wanting them, including repeated family illnesses.
Emily Hedigan
Sick Hedigan was jailed in April after she carried out vile sexual abuse against a child - and then shared the attacks in exchange for money.
She repeatedly incited the young boy to engage in sexual activity, which she filmed and sent the sickening footage on to a man elsewhere in the country for cash. Hedigan's depraved attacks has left the young boy, who was under the age of 13, traumatised. Her crimes were uncovered when a person discovered a video and pictures of the abuse on her mobile phone.
Hedigan was jailed for four years and eight months.
