A new report has revealed a flight from Leeds Bradford Airport is the most delayed route out of the UK.

The Delay to Departure Report, created by business communication provider Esendex, used FlightRadar24 to analyse more than 250 flight routes from the UK over the past year to establish the routes where passengers are most likely to be delayed, arrive on time, or even ahead of schedule as Brits look towards a summer getaway.

Ryanair’s flight from Leeds Bradford to Lawica in Poland was found to be the most delayed route on average with an average scheduled arrival time of 11.51am and an average actual arrival time of 12.27pm, passengers faced an approximate delay of 36 minutes.

Other delayed routes in the top 20 departing from Leeds Bradford Airport also included Ryanair’s flight to Málaga Airport, Spain. Passengers jetting off to the Middle East were second most affected by delays as those travelling on the Birmingham International to Dubai route faced an average delay of 30 minutes.

London Airports, Gatwick and Luton, were the only capital airports to feature in the top 20 most delayed routes with passengers travelling from London Gatwick to Milan Malpensa facing average delays of 20 minutes.

A spokesperson for Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA), said: “We work closely with our airline partners to minimise disruption to schedules, however delays most commonly arise due to external factors unrelated to the airport’s facilities.

"When these delays do occur, we take our customer service responsibilities seriously to support the wellbeing of passengers and assist our airline partners in managing the cause of the delay."
