According to MLB reporter Matt Gelb, Turner is expected to be out of the Phillies lineup for multiple weeks.

"Trea Turner said he expects to miss at least six weeks with his hamstring injury and any return before that 'would be a win,'" Gelb wrote.

"Obviously, big blow for Phillies."

He was having a stellar start to the 2024 season, solidifying himself as one of the top infielders in MLB.

Turner was batting to a .347 average with two homers and nine RBI. He already scored 27 runs.

The Phillies shortstop stole ten bases as well, racking up 1.6 wins above replacement on the season.

Turner's average was seventh-best in MLB, his runs scored sixth-best, and his 47 hits were second-best.

Phillies fans were crushed by the news and begged for him to come back sooner.

"Thats painful to see. That’s a huge hole to fill in that lineup," one fan said.

"Had the division lead for 12 hours before god said nah we can’t have this," another fan said.

Edmundo Sosa is expected to take over a majority of the work at shortstop while Bryson Stott moves over from second base sometimes.
