The long bank holiday weekend is well underway - which means people might be out and about shopping at supermarkets to pick up food for parties, picnics, barbecues and more. This year's early May bank holiday runs on Monday, May 6, and the second will take place at the end of the month on May 27.

The good news is that the majority of supermarkets will be open through the early May bank holiday weekend. Some may have slightly different opening times to standard Mondays, so it's worth checking before you make that special trip.

We've had a look at all the major supermarkets including Aldi, Tesco, Sainsbury's and more to see when they will be opening and closing on the early May bank holiday. We have listed general times for supermarket opening hours as a guide, but it is worth also checking your local store.
