Labour launches spoof Netflix shows rinsing Rishi Sunak, Liz Truss and Boris Johnson

The films are being published on 'Conflix', a mock Netflix platform created by Labour offering disaster movies like 'The Mini Budget' and 'Impossible Mission: Retirement'

Labour has launched a spoof Netflix platform with a series of attack videos cataloguing the chaos of 14 years of Tory rule.

On the anniversary of the Tories coming to power at the 2010 general election, Labour will release videos every day this week digging into the records of the last five Prime Ministers. The five-part series, named "Chaos and Decline", is being released on "Conflix", a mock Netflix platform offering disaster movies like "The Mini Budget" and "Impossible Mission: Retirement".

Starting with David Cameron's austerity years, the series will run through the Brexit chaos under Theresa May, the sleaze and scandal of Boris Johnson, Liz Truss's economy-crashing stint in No10 and finally Rishi Sunak's desperate attempts to cling to power.

It comes as the Tories plunged into fresh acrimony over their local elections drubbing, which saw the party lose nearly 500 council seats and the prized West Midlands mayoralty. Labour seized Blackpool South from the Conservatives in a Commons by-election - and inflicted a blow on Mr Sunak by winning the York and North Yorkshire by-election in his own back yard. But there was a glimmer of light for the Tories in Tees Valley, where incumbent Ben Houchen was re-elected.

Shadow Paymaster General Jonathan Ashworth said: “The Tory chaos over the last 14 years has been like a tragic soap opera where every episode brings more psycho drama, scandals, and broken promises. There is a real cost to this, and it’s paid by the British people every day."

“At every opportunity these five prime ministers put Conservative internal politics first and country second. Now they’re asking for another five years on the air with a Prime Minister who is a product of this exact chaos and who is willing to repeat the Truss-style economic catastrophe with his £46 billion threat to the state pension. After 14 long years of Tory chaos, the country needs change.”
