Jet2 has warned passengers who are flying from East Midlands Airport ahead of December 2024 to take care amid roadworks en route to the transport hub. Jet2, which is rivalled by Ryanair, Easyjet, TUI and more, has warned passengers on its website.

Jet2 said: "We have been made aware of road works between Junction 23A and Junction 25 on the M1, one lane will be permanently closed on the Northbound and Southbound carriageways with a 50mph speed restriction in place. Delays are likely during peak hours.

"There will be sporadic closures of Junction 23A slip roads, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00. There will be signed diversions. Please allow enough time to travel to East Midlands Airport as all Jet2.com flights are due to operate as scheduled."

It added: "Please check this section of the website at least 12 hours before your flight for the latest flight information. Customers are advised to arrive at their departure airport at least 2 hours before their scheduled departure time.

"In the event of any flight delays further information can be found by using the above search panel by entering your flight number or route. As a reminder check in desks will close 40 minutes before your scheduled departure time.

"Rest assured, in the event of flight disruption our dedicated Operations teams are always working hard behind the scenes at our UK-based HQ to get you on your way as soon as possible." Long delays are being reported on the M1 in Nottinghamshire due to emergency roadworks.

One lane of the southbound is closed while repairs take place between junctions 24 (Nottingham/ East Midlands Airport) and 25 (Nottingham/Derby). It leading to significant congestion as many motorists make their way to work, traffic monitoring site Inrix says. Travel time is reported to be around 30 minutes.

"Long delays and one lane closed due to emergency repairs on M1 in both directions from J24 A453 Ashby Road (Nottingham South / East Midlands Airport) to J25 A52 Brian Clough Way (Nottingham / Derby). Congestion to J26 Nottingham. Travel time is around 30 minutes," Inrix reads.
