CORONATION Street bosses have been dealt a huge blow after being forced to slash ticket prices for studio tours in a bid to boost sales.

It comes just weeks after viewers vowed to ‘switch off’ Corrie due to ‘ridiculous’ storylines.

The official Coronation Street ITV Experience is advertising twenty-percent off all ticket prices for fan tours on multiple scheduled dates throughout May.

Fans can even snap up cheaper tickets to meet and greet cast members from the soap on one of the ‘Star Tours’ in which a mystery cast member will pose for selfies with visitors.

Tickets for the star tours are usually priced at £55 per person but have now been slashed to £43.

In a further blow, there is still ‘good availability’ on a majority of the tickets for dates despite the cut down prices.

The official social media keeps trying to push the ticket offers with a number of posts shared to their accounts.

It comes just weeks after The Sun revealed how a Coronation Street cast Q&A flopped after they were left with scores of unsold tickets just hours before the event.

Organisers of the cast event which featured a meet and greet and Q&A with the soap’s Mikey North and Ryan Prescott at the Isle of Wight’s Medina Theatre were said to have been left embarrassed after dozens of seats were left empty after failing to flog the £29 tickets in advance.

The soap has also received major backlash from fans in recent weeks following the current storyline involving the Disappearance of Lauren Bolton.

The ongoing plot has seen innocent cafe owner Roy Cropper (David Nielsen) wrongly imprisoned for the young girl’s murder.

Many fans have slammed the show’s writers as ‘ridiculous’ and ‘ludicrous’ as they vow not to watch the soap until the story is over.

'Not ANOTHER affair!' moan Coronation Street viewers as they blast soap for 'decline in quality and care spanning 4 yrs'

Last year Coronation Street held an official event with serial killer Stephen Reid star Todd Boyce - and that sold out in two hours.

And the studio tours - as well as special Corrie star hosted ones - usually sell out months in advance.
