I found a £10 Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi dupe – I love its flattering, radiant formula
BEAUTY trends are so fast-moving, that sometimes it can be difficult to pinpoint what's heating up.
However, bronzing drops are unquestionably one of beauty's fastest-growing trends - and it show no signs of slowing down.

I literally cannot scroll through Instagram without being shown video after video of people mixing bronzing drops into their moisturiser, or daubing it over their cheekbones.
Several beauty brands are jumping on the trend too, with brands like e.l.f and Isle of Paradise to First Aid Beauty launching bronzing drops in the past few months.
But what has sparked this trend?

It's simple, really - the answer lies in the holy grail of bronzing drops: Drunk Elephant.
After launching D-Bronzi Drops in 2018, which reached near-instant social media stardom, the brand launched O-Bloos Rosi Drops Blush in 2021, which was met with a similar reception.
These stunning drops have a punchy, powerful pigment and a subtle metallic shimmer which can be dialled up or down.

They're blendable, buildable and unquestionably one of the most raved-about products of recent years - but they're also pretty pricey.
At £33 for just a small bottle, they're not cheap but are still prone to frequently selling out.
So, when Makeup Revolution announced it was launching similar Blush and Bronzing Drops, the internet, and I, went wild - mostly because they cost less than a tenner.
Several beauty fans have been comparing the drops with Drunk Elephant, and claim that they're a great beauty dupe, so I've put them to the test against the real thing.
My favourite element of the Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Drops is their gorgeous, copper shimmer.
The drops have a buttery-soft texture which melts into the skin and won't budge easily once applied.
Now, I'm not one for fake tans (my childhood was full of dance shows and bad fake tans) so I prefer mixing bronzing drops into my moisturiser for a lighter, fool-proof glow, without the fear of streaks or patchiness.

When I first swatched the Makeup Revolution Bronzing Drops, I was hard-pressed to find that many differences in texture to Drunk Elephant.
However, I did notice that the texture is slightly thicker than Drunk Elephant.
Often, a thicker texture is bad news for a make-up product, but Makeup Revolution's thick texture is a good thing, as it makes application and dispensing easier, potentially reducing wastage.
Makeup Revolution Bright Light Bronzing Drops have a subtle, muted finish, and don't have the same metallic finish as the Drunk Elephant offering.
This gives the drops a mattified finish, meaning they look much more natural and less glittery on the skin.
So, if you're not a fan of shimmering formulas - like me - then there's a good chance that you'll prefer Makeup Revolution's offering.
Just like Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Drops, the Makeup Revolution Drops can be mixed into your moisturiser or applied to your cheeks.
They'd also look great tapped onto eyelids, for a fuss-free, everyday eye look in seconds.
However, the greatest difference between the Drunk Elephant and Makeup Revolution is the ingredients list.
Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Drops are packed with antioxidants for refreshing and replenishing the skin, alongside barrier-boosting fatty acids which promote good skin texture and radiance.
Whilst Makeup Revolution Bright Light Bronzing Drops don't contain skin-loving antioxidants, they're instead packed with hydrating hyaluronic acid and squalane, for smooth, subtle skin.
If that wasn't enough, Revolution Pro has also created some great dupes for the O-Bloos Rosi Drops.
Powder blushers no longer rule the waves - in recent years, liquid blush and blusher drops have been growing in popularity.
People are converting to liquid formulas for two reasons: They're easy to apply and look great on the skin.
Whilst a powder blush will set into fine lines and dry skin, liquid blush can be blended into an even finish.
The Drunk Elephant O-Bloos Rosi Drops are no exception, and have a lightweight texture that sinks into the skin, for a pigmented finish and a barely-there feel.
Their rose-pink formula has a metallic silver shimmer, which provides an illuminating finish when applied to cheeks - making it the perfect balance between a blush and a highlighter.
Makeup Revolution Bright Light Blush Drops, £9.99
The Makeup Revolution Bright Light Blush Drops have a much thicker, whipped texture but they still sink into the skin and blend with ease.
Similar to the Makeup Revolution Bronzing Drops, they're not quite as pigmented as the Drunk Elephant alternative, but they do add a gorgeous dusty pink flush to your cheeks.
Drunk Elephant O-Bloos Rosi Drops are formulated with antioxidants like blackcurrant extract and white tea, which can help combat the impact of pollution, blue light and cooler temperatures on the skin.
Whilst Makeup Revolution Bright Light Blush Drops aren't formulated with these ingredients, their formula includes nourishing and hydrating squalane, hyaluronic acid and grapeseed oil.
I used my fingers to blend a small squeeze of product onto my cheeks, but I found myself applying more and more product as the finish is very subtle.
On my skin, they're far less shimmering than Drunk Elephant, and instead have a matte, balm-like finish which I think is more wearable.
