Cleansing balms are a glorious and sumptuous way to start and end your day. The thick cleansing product is a real treat that helps you to recreate a spa in the comfort of your own bathroom. And one that is beloved by the stars is the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm, which is currently on sale on Amazon for over £5 cheaper than it's usual retail price of £49.

The three-in-one balm, which is also available on Elemis' website, Lookfantastic and Boots for £49, is now priced on the shopping giant's website for just £43.20 if you subscribe to its service that provides regular top-ups of the product (meaning your beauty cleansing cabinet will never be empty - it's free and can be cancelled at any time), or £48 for a one time purchase. The reason it is so loved by celebrities such as Catherine Zeta-Jones, Molly-Mae Hague and more is because it is gentle on the skin and doesn't strip it of its natural moisture, but encourages it - not to mention it removes make-up seamlessly.

Starting off as a balm, it nourishes your skin before transforming into a make-up busting oil that becomes a hydrating milk to finish off your cleansing routine, leaving you with clean, smooth and hydrated skin. With ingredients like Rose and Mimosa waxes mixed with elderberry oil, padina pavonica (a brown Mediterranean algae)starflower oil, and Optimega™ oils not to mention a blend of nine essential oils, it smells heavenly and envelopes your bathroom in a scent that 'invigorates the senses' with fragrances like lavender, chamomile and eucalytpus. A real self care treat.

There's a reason this deeply cleansing 3-in-1 balm is award-winning and has over 3,000 reviews on the Elemis website as well as a near perfect 4.9 star rating. With words like 'beautiful', 'effective' and 'soothing' used to describe this balm, it's no wonder it's one of the brand's best-selling products.

One shopper revealed its quality was so good it would be their 'desert island' product. They explained: "If I'm ever stranded on a desert island, I'm bringing a knife, some twine, and Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm. Every night when I twist off the lid, I bring the balm right to my nose and inhale. The scent is so calming and it makes face-washing something I look forward to."

Another remarked: "I love this cleanser so much, it’s so gentle on your skin and your eyes whilst breaking down makeup so well. Will always be a number 1 go to." A third shopper, who described the balm as 'utter luxury' and 'totally heavenly' said: "I'm fairly new to cleansing balms (as opposed to washes) but with peri-menopausal skin which can be prone to seasonal dryness, balms are a revelation to me, in that they don't 'strip' the skin in any way, while cleansing completely.

"You don't need a huge amount of the balm (and this is a large pot, so it's going to be good value) – a nut sized amount melts into oil which you smooth all over the face and neck and massage (even good though you're doing it yourself!). In its solid state, the balm is soft enough to scoop out with a finger tip without it getting under your nails."

She added: "The scent is heavenly – not overpowering but with hints of lavender. Massaging it over the skin, it is so soft and feels utterly luxurious. What's got me most fascinated, and I didn't believe it til I tried it, is the way it just melts make up away so effortlessly. On going out days, I wear mascara and eyeliner, plus foundation etc – and taking the black off does cause a bit of a black mess initially! But on removing with a warm, moist flannel, the balm takes every trace of make up. It's astonishing."

She revealed after using the balm, her skin felt "tingly, soft and alive. Also, thoroughly hydrated, and you feel like you've had a facial."

What's not to love? Well, some beauty buffs compare the product to The Ordinary's Squalane cleanser (£14.90) and say: "[It] is not as gentle as TO's, especially around the eye area." Others weren't too pleased that the Amazon product didn't come with a cleansing cloth (as is often the case when ordered from Elemis), citing: "I have ordered this item for years from many different websites. The product if lovely but is supposed to come with a face cloth wrapped in tissue paper. I did not receive a face cloth with my order on this occasion."

If the fragrance is a bit too strong, you can opt for the rose-infused version which is on sale for £46 on Amazon here for a limited time. Alternatively, the Clinique Take The Day Off cleansing balm is a popular choice at a slightly cheaper price of £24, or Perricone MD's Essential Fx Acyl-Glutathione Chia Cleansing Balm is £39 and is equally as lavish, nourishing and hydrating as Elemis'.

If you're an Elemis fan through and through though, and want to take advantage of this deal, get it on Amazon here.
