HONG KONG -- China's exports grew slightly in April amid increasing scrutiny of its trade by the U.S. and Europe, posing questions over whether the momentum will last.

The total value of overseas shipments increased 1.5% on the year in dollar terms, reversing a sharp decline of 7.5% recorded in March, according to data released by the country's customs office on Thursday.
