Kate Middleton's bedtime routine bears a striking similarity to that of the late Queen Elizabeth II, according to reports. The Princess of Wales is said to retire to bed at 10:30pm each night, ensuring she's well-rested for her royal duties the following day.

She also reportedly enjoys an early dinner around 6pm.

This routine closely mirrors that of the late Queen, who was known to sign off duty and head to bed at 11pm each night. A sleep expert previously suggested that the Queen managed to get an impressive 8.5 hours of sleep per night, which falls within the healthy sleep range for adults in the UK.

The former monarch was also known to enjoy reading before falling asleep, a great way to wind down after a busy day. She would rise at 7:30am, ensuring she got a respectable eight and a half hours of sleep each night.

Exercise is known to aid a good sleep routine, and like the late monarch, Kate is renowned for her love of outdoor exercise. Known as one of the sportiest members of the Royal Family, the Princess of Wales' healthy lifestyle includes activities such as running and dog-walking, reports the Mirror.

The Queen, an avid equestrian, often used horse riding as a form of exercise and relished hiking through the verdant surroundings of Balmoral during her stays. Throughout her reign, she was commonly seen strolling with her cherished corgis across her expansive estates.

Similarly, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, is known for maintaining an active lifestyle. On her now-defunct lifestyle blog The Tig, she once wrote about the importance of morning routines, stating: "The morning, as we all know, is that vital time that sets the tone for our day ahead."

Meghan is said to begin her days with yoga, which is celebrated for its numerous health benefits.

Speaking to Best Health, she highlighted the advantages of yoga, saying: "There are so many benefits that come with the practice of yoga... increased flexibility and strength, greater happiness, increased mental focus, a greater ability to relax, decreased anxiety and better sleep."

With her mother Doria Ragland being a professional yoga instructor, it's no surprise that yoga has played a significant role in Meghan's life from an early age. She shared, "Yoga is my thing. My mom is a yoga instructor, and I started doing mommy-and-me yoga with her when I was seven."

Despite initial resistance during her childhood, Meghan embraced the practice more fully over time, especially during her college years.

She recalled her mother's encouragement, saying: "I was very resistant as a kid, but she said, 'Flower, you will find your practice just give it time.'".

Meghan, famed for her health-conscious lifestyle, has previously admitted to favouring a green juice over caffeine for an energy boost. Yet, the self-confessed food lover also advocates balance, confessing that she indulges in wine and French fries as her guilty pleasures.
