Martin Lewis' Money Saving Expert has issued a warning to Sainsbury's Nectar card holders. ITV The Martin Lewis Money Show star and BBC Sounds podcast host Mr Lewis' team on MSE spoke out on the money-saving website.

MSE explained: "Sainsbury's is running a limited new promotion for millions of shoppers. If eligible, all you need to do to get the extra points is spend £1 or more at a time across a few separate transactions at the supermarket."

The Nectar Shop for Points Challenge will offer you Nectar bonus points on the completion of the shopping tasks at Sainsbury's set out in your Nectar app based on your purchasing history. The promotion is available by invitation only, via email and push notification sent to you by Nectar.

You'll need to use Nectar app where you must click on the Shop for Points Challenge tile and opt-in by 4 June 2024. The Ppomotion runs between 8 May 2024 and 4 June 2024 inclusive and a minimum spend of £1 is required on each shop.

You cannot use Nectar points to pay for the purchase of your entire shop, and shops paid for with a mix of both Nectar points and pounds will require a minimum spend of £1 in pounds. The supermarket explained: "As part of the Promotion we’ll add your additional Nectar bonus points after you complete each of your Shops set out in the Nectar app within the Promotional Dates.

"The amount of additional Nectar bonus points may vary per customer. Such additional Nectar bonus points will be awarded to the primary Nectar account holder within 28 days of the Promotion end date. Your Shops will remain available to view in the Nectar app until 04 June 2024."
