One of Glasgow’s oldest bars set to open again after massive refurb

New bosses say the refurb will honour the pub's history while embracing the fresh look.

ONE of the oldest bars in Glasgow is set to reopen its doors after undergoing a massive refurb.

The city centre pub was given a fresh new look after new operators took it over.

The Strathduie Bar in Merchant City first started serving punters in 1893.

And The Blackfriars Street boozer will soon be back to serving the city's revellers.

New bosses say the refurb will honour the pub's history while embracing the new look.

A spokesperson for the pub promised every customer would have an "unforgettable experience" whenever they stop by for a pint.

They told Glasgow Live: “We’re thrilled to welcome everyone back to Strathduie Bar, our team have worked tirelessly to create a space that honours the history of the venue, while also embracing the excitement of right now.

“Whether you're joining us for a lunchtime pint, a casual evening with friends or celebrating a special occasion, we're committed to providing an unforgettable experience for each and every guest."

It is juts the latest bit of good news for bar lovers in Scotland.

We recently told how a brand new bar is set to open at a popular Scots shopping centre.

The new pub will have a fire pit and live music to wow punters at the major retail hub.

The trendy spot will boast an outdoor seating area with pergolas and table pods.
