Martin Lewis and his Money Saving Expert team have shared the "easy" way to get extra Nectar points. Sainsbury's shoppers have been told by the BBC and ITV star's MSE team to act if they want to boost their points on their trips to the supermarket.

This new offer from Sainsbury's – called the "Nectar Shop for Points Challenge" – is a limited new promotion for millions of shoppers. If eligible, all you need to do to get the extra points is spend £1 or more at a time across a few separate transactions at the supermarket.

The eligibility criteria is that it's "based on a range of factors" and iff you've been chosen to take part, you will be told via your app. If chosen, shoppers need to OPT IN to take part and youu can do this through the Nectar app.

If you don't, you simply won't earn any bonus points (though you'll still earn the usual one Nectar point per £1 spent at Sainsbury's). Once opted-in, to get the extra points you need to spend just £1 or more at a time in-store or online at Sainsbury's.

You could earn 100s of extra points and the offer will run until 4 June 2024. In its terms and conditions, Sainsbury's explained to shoppers: "All Nectar points are subject to the Nectar Collector Rules which are available at Nectar.com. We reserve the right to amend or withdraw this offer at any time."

It comes after Tesco announced it is trialling a new “Clubcard Challenges” promotion for some shoppers, which will require you to complete tasks to get extra points. If you’re chosen to take part, you’ll see 20 challenges available - but you will only have to complete 10 tasks to get the maximum of £50 worth of extra Clubcard points.
