MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Former Green Bay Packer Aaron Jones is making a generous donation to Wisconsin schools.

Twelve schools across the state will receive a donation of 500 pairs of shoes on May 9 and May 10 as part of the annual Yards for Shoes Campaign.

“I love this campaign. Seeing the smiling faces on these kids every year is really touching. It feels great to give back to the community and support these kids,” said Jones.

While playing with the Packers, Jones made a pledge to donate one pair of shoes for every rushing yard he gained, up to 1,000 yards. A press release says Jones surpassed this expectation with over 880 rushing yards. Cousins Subs will provide custom socks for every pair of shoes distributed.

Shoes are being distributed by the A&A All The Way Foundation at the following schools in Green Bay and Milwaukee.

Green Bay:

  • Elmore Elementary School
  • Eisenhower Elementary School
  • Danz Elementary School
  • Sullivan Elementary School
  • Nicolet Elementary School
  • Washington Middle School

Milwaukee:

  • Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Elementary School
  • Bruce Elementary School
  • Westside Academy
