A motorist whose careless driving left someone seriously injured, a man who smashed up a woman's car and shop thieves who stole hundreds of pounds' worth of items from shops around Hull have all been sentenced by magistrates in recent days.

While some cases were adjourned until a later date and others sent to Hull Crown Court, many offenders from around the area were still handed prison sentences, driving bans and hefty fines at Hull Magistrates' Court.
