Marks & Spencer shoppers have been snapping up a "fabulous" new piece of outdoor furniture that's a must-have for enjoying the summer weather in style and comfort.

The Stroud 2 Seater Garden Bench is one of the top trending favourites on the high street giant's website right now when it comes to garden furniture, with its elegant design featuring heart-shaped metalwork quickly winning over shoppers. Priced at £169, the sage green bench will add a whimsical look to any outside space, while the padded seat ensures comfort when you're basking in the the sunshine and the powder-coated finish means it will stay looking its best for longer.

With matching garden furniture available from M&S including a bistro and dining set, the classic two-seater bench has earned rave reviews from shoppers. Those who have bought it so far hailed it as "simply stunning" and "great value for money", saying it "looks dainty but feels sturdy".

One shopper hailed it as "fabulous", writing in a five-star review: "The bench is so beautiful and it looks so lovely underneath my pergola. The colour of the bench blends well in my lovely garden and, being metal, will not need the maintenance of a wooden bench. Highly recommended."

Another M&S customer agreed: "An elegantly made garden seat. Easy to assemble. Very comfortable and complements the garden. Very pleased with purchase."

A third praised: "Easy to assemble. Lovely colour and very comfortable. Sturdy bench and good value for money."

And someone else said: "This garden bench looks lovely on my patio. It was easy to assemble and is nice and light for moving to a sunnier position. You do need extra cushions for the back though as the metal is quite uncomfortable to lean on."

While no-one rated the bench lower than three stars, a couple of shoppers knocked stars off because the cushion is "not waterproof" and had to be taken off to dry out after rain. M&S recommends that the bench itself is not left outside "for extended periods of inclement weather or in extreme conditions", and should be stored in a garage or shed over winter.

To complete your garden with a whole set, M&S also offers a matching Stroud 2 Seater Bistro Table & Chairs for £299 or a Stroud 4 Seater Garden Table & Chairs for £549, sporting the same dainty design. Or for a more budget-friendly option elsewhere on the high street, you can pick up the Steel Lilypad Garden Bench at Dunelm for just £69 - it can be brightened up with the Tropical Bench Pad for £25 too.

Back at M&S, another outdoor seating solution that shoppers have been snapping up recently is the Set of 2 Lois Garden Armchairs, which come in a range of vibrant colour options and are priced at £129 for the pair, working out at £64.50 each. You can choose from classic dark grey or natural brown, or opt for an eye-catching terracotta, cobalt blue, olive green or teal shade to bring some much-needed brightness to your outside space - read more about the chairs here.
