Adam Bogdan has revealed how Jurgen Klopp made Liverpool players train for six weeks without a day off.

The ex-Reds goalkeeper was one of Brendan Rodgers' final signings at Anfield, having arrived at the club from Bolton Wanderers in July 2015 alongside the likes of Joe Gomez, James Milner and Roberto Firmino.

While he only ended up playing just six times for Liverpool as understudy to Simon Mignolet, the former Hungary international has fond memories of his time under the German boss who is known for the heavy demands he asks of his players.

Speaking exclusively to Ladbrokes Fanzone, the 36-year-old discussed just how involved Klopp was with every facet of training in the opening months of his nine-year tenure in Merseyside. "We would constantly be working on that pressing style; where to start, how to do it correctly," the free agent keeper said.

"And he was always there, by the way. He would even take the recovery sessions after the game. He was so involved. He'd do all the talking, because his assistant couldn't speak English. He was so intense, and with his voice and attitude, he kept that intensity high at all times.

"He introduced these shooting drills which were designed around our reactions after losing the ball. Everything was drilled into us, and it was constant. It was all built around reactions, and the importance of being the first to react."

Adam Bogdan has revealed what training with Liverpool was really like

Competing in the Europa League during his first season in charge made for some pretty demanding training sessions at Melwood as Bogdan revealed just how arduous it was competing in Europe.

"It was so demanding in the beginning; I think we went through six weeks without a day off, because of the European schedule," he claimed. "He was very German in that sense; the British system before allowed for the occasional day off, but that wasn't the case under Jurgen Klopp.

‌"And then he started to build and expand the team around him. Not just on the pitch or in the dugout, but behind the scenes, also."

The Hungarian recalled on how Klopp had begun restructuring aspects of the club, beginning with the food being served to the players. "He changed things in the kitchen; the club spent a lot of money on that, bringing in Mona Nemmer - who is a genius, by the way," he added.

"The food became 10 times better than it was before! The gym got restructured a little bit. Everything was logical, you know, everything became more tight."
