Welsh singer-songwriter Charlotte Church has sold her south Wales dream home, The Spinney, after it first went on the market back in summer 2023. After seeing the guide price drop from £2.25m to £2m, luxury estate agent Jemma Friday confirmed that The Spinney had sold for £2.1m in an Instagram post over the weekend.

Posting on Instagram, Jemma wrote: "Thrilled to share the incredible news of Charlotte Church's home exchange! After struggling to secure any viewings with two previous agents, I took over, maintained the price, and highlighted the home's best feature—the gardens." Jemma added that after she took on the project, in conjunction with Fine & Country, the home welcomed four potential buyers and a price over the £2m guide price was secured.

The six-bedroom Dinas Powys property is a secluded semi-rural six-bedroom home nestled in three acres of beautiful grounds that has created a sanctuary away from the stresses of life for the internationally acclaimed musician who made a home there with her husband Jonny and three children, Ruby, Dexter and Freda.

Charlotte said at the time of listing in September 2023: "It was all about the setting for us when we first saw the house just over 13 years ago. It's a very private property with wonderful grounds and I immediately felt safe. That feeling has remained with us for the entire time we have lived here and we've never felt isolated as we have great neighbours."

Hidden within the grounds is a detached guest bedroom created as a secret retreat that could have been the inspiration for her most ambitious and risky move to date - buying a secluded Powys country house that was once home to Welsh designer Laura Ashley and spending over £1m creating a wellbeing retreat called The Dreaming for guests to stay and be revived by the beauty of the awe-inspiring landscape. With a new home on the horizon for Charlotte and her family, the singer, who's recently released a new podcast Kicking Back with the Cardiffians on BBC Sounds, is excited to hand The Spinney over to a new owner. She added: "We genuinely have absolutely adored the house and its grounds; it's looked after us and we're so excited for a new family to move in and take over as guardians of this beautiful place."
