“This year’s theme, Our Nurses, Our Future, is a global campaign which aims to set out what we want for nursing in the future in order to address the global health challenges and improve health for all.

“As a profession it is time to look to the future and this campaign will shine the light on nurses and on a brighter future.

“Without the nursing profession the NHS would be unable to offer the high quality healthcare it provides day in and day out and we should applaud our nursing colleagues for their dedication and professionalism.

“I would like to offer my thanks to all our nursing colleagues across Lanarkshire on their day of recognition.”

The theme of this year’s International Nurses Day 2024 is Nurses: Our Nurses Our Future and it aims to set out the NHS wants for the future of nursing, while "shining a light on a brighter future for the profession".
