In her viral video, TikTok user Deja Janea (@dejajanea) showed her followers some of the steps she took to transform the space.

She explained that she wanted to elevate her balcony so she could "pray, meditate, read books, and journal" on it.

One of the areas she focused on was the plain concrete floor, which she decided to cover in faux grass.

"I got this artificial turf from Home Depot," the DIY expert told her viewers.

She purchased five quantities of the $39 Grass Interlocking Flooring Tiles from Home Depot.

"It’s actually super easy, all you do is snap the pieces together," Deja said as she demonstrated the technique.

"It’s a little tedious at first but once I got the hang of it I was able to move quick."

She explained that the grass is supposed to be left to sit out for 24 hours.

Deja then rubbed the grass so all the tiles were facing in the same direction

"The turf is actually soft and it feels really good to walk out there barefoot," she said.

For her additional decor upgrades, she purchased three sets of the $35 Natural Reed Fencing from Home Depot.

She also added wood paneling along the edge of the balcony, lining the sliding glass door.

"My sanctuary is coming together," Deja told her audience.

The TikToker initially tried out a grass covering along her railing but opted for the artificial bamboo instead.

She also added finishing touches in the form of electric candles and faux wrap-around ivy.
