Britain's Got Talent viewers were left fed up over the latest episode of the ITV talent show.

Many fans took to X to fume over certain parts of the series they found super annoying. As the ITV show faced tough competition from the BAFTA TV Awards 2024 on the BBC on Sunday night, with a schedule clash, those that did tune into BGT shared their frustration over the amount of adverts.

Within 10 minutes into the episode the first ad aired, only for another to air around 10 minutes later. There were further adverts airing throughout the episode, while something else got on the nerves of viewers.

Fans also called out the show over the use of added effects including slow motion. Several of the performances in recent episodes have had slow motion played over the top during and after the act, and this weekend was no different.

Some viewers called out the distracting element not sure why it was added. Taking to X, fans made it clear the extra effects were not enjoyed or needed.

One fan said: "This might be the worst series of #BGT yet. The overproduction, unnecessary slow mo’s, the influencer acts approached by the producers ….. not authentic anymore."

Another agreed: "There's far more slow mos, cuts, adverts, chit-chat, and other shiz than actual act footage - and when there is an act it's specifically chosen by the judges! Crazy days!" A third fan added: "Another #BGT performance that @ITV ruined for the viewer by constantly over using slow motion. Speed is what makes performances like the aerialist so impressive. Stop killing the effect!"

The complaints are not something new either, with fans calling out the format for weeks. One viewer recently said: "Britain’s got talent really overdoes the slow-motion."

Another fan posted: "They’re clearly trying to create extra drama with the slow motion, but it’s overkill. All the effects are overkill. You can tell when audience cheering is edited in. Not natural, all distracting and annoying to watch. Does it really need this much editing." A third fan said: "This show is actually 30 minutes long without the slow mo button."
