Scottish Labour are launching a series of policy summits to prepare the groundwork for the next Holyrood election.

Their Scottish Policy Forum will be up and running within weeks and tasked with producing ideas to take into the 2026 campaign.

A spate of polls have shown Scottish Labour are set to become the largest grouping north of the border after the next general election.

But the same surveys also have revealed the pro-UK parties are in line for a majority of seats after the next Holyrood poll.

This would make Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar favourite to become First Minister and pave the way for the first Labour administration in Edinburgh since 2007.

But critics believe Labour are policy-light at a Holyrood level and want to see bold ideas coming to the fore.

The SPF is the officially recognised body for policy and will include contributions from members, trade unions and parliamentarians.

Senior MSP Michael Marra is leading a separate policy review.
