The Boston Celtics seem to have an issue that they tend to disregard. Their home playoffs record since 2021 is 15-15. Not the ideal ratio for a team with Championship aspirations. In stark contrast, the Cs have been much better on the road. They have a 17-10 record. And somehow, Boston is hoping that it will get resolved in time. Or at least that is what Draymond Green‘s advice was for, to make them realize what’s costing them Championships.

Joining NBA on TNT Tip-Off, Green has some veteran advice for the Jays. Although it is an advice, it seems to hold a challenge. A challenge that is ideally directed at them, but can be enforced by anyone brave enough. “Who’s the leader that’s going to step up and say, ‘Hey, man, this is garbage. We’ve been struggling at home, it’s costing us,‘” he said. The 4x champion then went ahead and reminded them of something.

“Now, Steph Curry went on the road and beat them in Boston. It’s costing [them] championships now,” Dray said. While it was a reminder for Boston, Cleveland can very well take inspiration from the Warriors’ climb back to Curry and Co.’s fourth title and the franchise’s seventh.

The Cs had gained the upper hand by building a 2-1 lead over the Warriors in the final seven-game series. It was an unpredictable run for ‘Beantown’. But they decided to make use of the chance that presented itself. After all, Boston fans have been waiting patiently for them to hang the 18th banner.

Yet, the Dubs rallied in the waning moments to make a comeback and bring it home. The 2021-22 season was tough for the organization and the franchise stars. It would be a lie to say those factors did not affect them and their hopes for the season. The shock at their title run was apparent in Steph‘s words. “At the beginning of season, we weren’t even on the radar!” he had said post-game.

Can a Donovan Mitchell-less Cavaliers truly take a chapter from Draymond Green’s Warriors’ success story?

The Celtics won 109-102 tonight, extending the lead to 3-1. All they require is one more win and the ‘City of Champions’ can say goodbye to the rest of the season. But if they can take inspiration from Draymond Green’s tip, the Cavaliers will have to stop Boston for the next two games. Realistically, the odds are not in Cleveland’s favor.

Particularly considering they are short of their star guard, Donovan Mitchell, and three other key pieces. Mitch has battled health concerns throughout the season. However, when he was on the floor, the team put together a brilliant performance. They went 36-19 this season with the ‘Spida’ on the floor as opposed to the 12-15 record without him.

‘The 216’ haven’t fared too well in Don’s absence against the Cs, either. Cleveland has gone 6-12 and averaged 102.6 points per game without the 27-year-old New York native. As for the 5x All-Star’s record against Boston, Mitch has averaged 31.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in 3 games. That’s a remarkable stat line for someone regularly on the injury report.

All things considered, it would be a testament to the team’s skills if the Cavs manage to win Game 5 at TD Garden. They are 1-4 on the road in the playoffs this season, the sole road victory coming from the Celtics win on the 9th. Although Draymond Green makes great points, Cleveland might get the chance to use them in the coming season.
