It’s no secret that Bronny James has been in the spotlight as one of the most talked-about college athletes. Connected to LeBron James, the media has been all over every aspect of Bronny’s life and career. So, it’s quite a shocker to find out that Bronny’s listed height with the USC Trojans wasn’t accurate. NBA insider and ESPN analyst Brian Windhorst recently lifted the lid on Bronny’s actual height, and what lies ahead for him.

Bronny James was one of the 78 athletes invited to the 2024 NBA Draft Combine. James really made waves during the combine, and it wasn’t just because of his skills on the court; when it came to measurements, things got interesting. The USC Trojans had Bronny listed at 6’3″ during his freshman season. But during the combine, his actual height without shoes was measured at 6’1.5″.

ESPN analyst Brian Windhorst expressed his thoughts on Bronny’s combine performance as well as his measurements in the latest episode of Pat McAfee Show. He said, “First off, Bronny had a great first day at the combine. He shot the heck out of the ball. He didn’t shoot well at all at USC. Now, granted, these are drills, but he really impressed scouts… Secondly, he has really added some weight… He weighed in at 210 & has definitely added muscle.”

This showing has really improved Bronny James’ draft prospects, which might improve the chances of seeing LeBron and Bronny play together. But his agent, Rich Paul, has come out and stated that pairing Bronny and Lebron isn’t their “top priority.” However, Windhorst had something different to say. He said, “LeBron James wants to play with his son.. I believe firmly that he’s gonna end up back with the Lakers & they’re gonna give LeBron the contract that he wants.”

Where does Bronny James go from here now?

Before the 2024 Draft Combine, Bronny James’ draft stock was at an all-time low. However, an impressive showing in the combine has done a world of good for his NBA aspirations. The numbers that Bronny put up were truly elite. First off, Bronny James’ vertical jump was measured at 40.5 inches, which was the fourth highest amongst all players. This comes as no shock, as elite athleticism runs in the blood of LeBron James’ son.

However, what surprised people most was his shooting. During the 2023–24 season, Bronny shot just 36.6% from the field and a woeful 26.7% from downtown. But in the draft combine, he crushed the 3-point challenge while scoring 19 of his 25 attempts. This shooting performance was the second-best by any athlete on that day. Furthermore, in the movement shooting drill, Bronny James didn’t miss a shot for a minute and 15 seconds.

After a performance like this, most experts now believe that Bronny wouldn’t go undrafted. Having said that, he still remains a late second-round pick. If Bronny maintains his level, he could surely rise further in the draft. And with team workouts and interviews still remaining, that remains a huge possibility.
