Aldi has issued an emergency alert to shoppers and urged them to return items to stores. Aldi, which is rivalled by the likes of Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, Sainsbury's and more, spoke out on its website as it issued an urgent health and safety notice.

Aldi warned: "Product Recall - Chinese and BBQ Pork Loin Steaks. Product Recall - Chinese and BBQ Pork Loin Steaks. For your information only and action as required. Please note that the following Emergency Withdrawal ALL + PPR has taken place in All GB Regions excluding Bathgate.

"Product Details: Chinese Pork Loin Steaks and BBQ Pork Loin Steaks. Barcodes: Chinese Pork Loin Steaks - 4088600039213, BBQ Pork Loin Steaks - 4088600559247. Use by Date: 22 JUN. Regions affected: All GB excluding Bathgate.

"What has happened? As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling Chinese Pork Loin Steaks and BBQ Pork Loin Steaks because a small number of products have had the incorrect use by date applied of 22 June.

"Anyone who bought this product should return it to their nearest store for a full refund. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. What is Aldi doing about it? We have removed this product from sale in stores and are recalling all affected products.

"What should customers do? Do not consume the product and return the product to your nearest store for a full refund. It follows a similar recall for Lacura Cozmo His 100ml & Lacura Cozmo Hers 100ml. On its website, Aldi said: "Please note that the following Emergency Withdrawal and Public Product Recall has taken place. As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling this product due to a fault which may cause the glass bottle to break."
