Only days after her enchanting appearance on the red carpet of the Met Gala, Nelly Korda again shows her associations with the wilderness. Hours before her Cognizant Founders Cup Tour, cameras caught her wearing a magnificent red dress designed by Oscar de la Renta, as per the theme of the night, The Garden of Time.‘ This time, only hours before her Mizuho Americas Open at the Liberty National Golf Course, Korda dropped another symbol where she sways the wild. Instead of a dress, she chose a tattoo. Don’t you want to know what it is that is now forever inked on her?

Michelle Santana, a Columbian Tattoo artist based in New York, shared a post thanking Nelly Korda for seeking her service. She uploaded several photos of her art on Korda’s left arm. The tattoo is of a lion’s face and its mane. Prominent and quite intricate as it is, another photo revealed Nelly Korda lying down with a cup of coffee while getting the lion tattooed. Shocking as it is, Korda was not seen in pain but smiling. But why lion? Does it have anything to do with her personality or the way she plays? 

Once, the 25-year-old LPGA number 1 golfer revealed how she often gets compared to a lion. She confessed how even her parents do not hesitate to call her as one. She once revealed, “My parents call me Lion.” But that is not all. Korda firmly believes that her stars aligned at birth, granting her the Leo zodiac sign. She shows much faith in accepting that her personality and the zodiac tropes are similar. She stated, “I am Leo, so I kind of have that kind of personality on the golf course.” 

Although Korda is exceptionally expressive through her social media and interactions with fans, she is different on the greens. The golfer has shown only a calm, composed, and victorious attitude when she descends on the golf course. As she has affirmed before in an interview, “When it’s tournament week, I switch to a completely different person,” She also explained how she turns calm. Korda doesn’t deny it when her fans and family associate her with a lion.

In fact, Eubanks writes on the official LPGA site, “She is the lion that you never want to anger, the killer who, with just a little nudge, rips you to shreds and moves right along.” But this is the only instance when Korda shows off her alliance with the lion symbol. Inspired by John Daly’s performance, Korda started showing interest in golf. She still keeps a small article of motivation. It is a smaller version of Daly’s multi-colored lion head cover in her bag. We also saw her with some practice golf balls from TaylorMade with a lion logo and her initials, NK, minutely incorporated into it. 

More importantly, The Nelly Invitational under the American Junior Golf Association is also represented with a fierce Lion as its logo. Moreover, Korda’s Instagram bio also has a lion emoji. Before all the other emojis representing her life, including travel and golf, she chose to keep the lion in the forefront. All of these deliberately show how much Korda feels aligned with the representation of Lion.
