Hundreds of beauty fans queued outside a huge new Sephora store in Manchester ahead of its grand opening today - with some eager shoppers camping out in the queue from 10pm last night.

The beauty store opened today in the Trafford Centre at 9.30am - with 'more than a thousand' people said to be waiting to get in when it opened. The first 500 in the shop were due to receive a wristband which they could then trade in store to secure them an exclusive goodie bag chocked full of treats.

Sephora, popular in the USA, stocks hundreds of beauty brands hard to find in UK stores, such as Lady Gaga’s Haus Labs and ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr to Tarte.

The global beauty brand has 2,700 shops across 35 countries - but so far if you live in the UK you have had to travel to London to browse the shelves of luxury make-up, skincare and haircare. But now, there's one in Manchester.

Many beauty lovers in Birmingham have been left asking if the well-loved brand will be making its way to the Bullring. But it is looking unlikely at the moment.

A spokesman for Sephora recently confirmed to BirminghamLive there was 'no update' on whether a store would be opening in Birmingham's Bullring shopping centre. While the Bullring said it would not comment on rumours a store might open there.
