CHON BURI - Ten South Korean nationals were arrested during a police raid on a coffee shop-cum-gambling den in Pattaya beach town on Friday.

Police and officials, led by Bang Lamung district chief Veekit Manarojkiit and Pattaya police chief Pol Col Navin Thirawit, raided the gambling den located on the second floor of Sand Coffee in Bang Lamung district at 9.26pm.

During the operation, authorities found a group of foreigners playing poker in a room. Ten gamblers, all South Korean nationals, and Phuek Prasomphan, a 46-year-old Thai man who admitted to being the owner of the place, were arrested.

A gambling table, decks of poker cards, chips and about 160,000 baht in cash were seized.

Police asked the South Koreans to produce their passports and found none of them had entered the country illegally.

All suspects were handed over to Pattaya City police station for legal action.
