Anfield celebrates Jurgen Klopp for the final time as the Liverpool boss says goodbye to the club after a 2-0 win over Wolves.

Jarell Quansah scored after Alexis Mac Allister had put Liverpool ahead in Jurgen Klopp's final game as Reds boss.

The goal came after Nelson Semedo had been sent off for Wolves for a horror challenge on Mac Allister.

While the departing Liverpool manager has stressed that the focus has to be on the game itself against Wolves, for the home supporters it is about one man. In nearly nine years in charge of the Reds, Klopp has taken the club back to the pinnacle of English, European and world football.

But his tenure comes to an end this afternoon - and there will not be a dry eye in the house. Our Liverpool reporters Paul Gorst, Ian Doyle and Theo Squires are reporting live from Anfield for what is sure to be an emotional occasion.

Liverpool line-up: Alisson, Endo, Van Dijk, Diaz, Mac Allister, Salah, Gakpo, Elliott, Robertson, Alexander-Arnold, Quansah. Subs: Kelleher, Gomez, Konate, Szoboszlai, Nunez, Jones, Jota, Gravenberch, Bradley.

Jurgen Klopp plots Liverpool return

So we can expect to see him back, but when...

Klopp says: "It was an absolutely incredible and wonderful time. I loved it. My family were on the pitch. I will come back occasionally as a supporter and I'm fine with that. Not for the first game of the season - maybe after the second international break haha."

'I'll come back as a Liverpool supporter'

Every quote doesn't get any easier.

Klopp: "Job done. I love them all, everything about the club, but it's time for me to go. It's not burning behind me, so that gives me a good feeling. I know I'll come back, I'm a Liverpool supporter and I love that."

No tears shed, Jurgen?

"I had a few moments during the week, and during the last few minutes it was tricky," the Liverpool manager says.

Somehow he held it together but I didn't.

"The people make the difference for this club"

Jurgen Klopp: "I don't think it's normal. I knew for a long time our relationship was pretty special. I really think the people make the difference for this club. These people are the superpower of this club, will push them through difficult moments"

"All good thing have to come to an end"

Jamie Carragher has made the reality hit home.

"All good things have to come to an end, we'll all wake up in the morning and Jurgen Klopp will no longer be the manager. We know this has been coming for months but the reality hits today, the club has moved on with great managers and players, they will survive no doubt," he said speaking on Sky Sports.

"In terms of replacing that man, it will be doubly difficult it really will."

Just trying to process things here, Carra, come on.

Thee's a moment with Trent Alexander-Arnold's mum

After a brief period, with the stadium filtering out, Jurgen Klopp shares a hug with Trent Alexander-Arnold's mum.

This week, it came to light that she was warned over a foreign manager coming in to replace Brendan Rodgers because he wouldn't get the chance.

How wrong were they?

A lovely moment.

Klopp has a conversation with his wife before she spots Thiago and his child.

Oh hang on, he's back

BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG... COME ON!

Klopp's gone back for a few more.

And he's doing every corner of Anfield.

Watch it, drink it in. A modern living legend.

One final push

Thank you, you're the best people in the world thank you.

Jurgen Klopp rounds off after saying what he has on his jumper and on the back.

They all run hand to the Kop, hand-in-hand and I don't know how many fist pumps.

Does anyone have any tissues?

Jurgen Klopp starts Arne Slot chant

Jurgen Klopp has just started an Arne Slot chant at Anfield.

Yes, you read it right.

Arne Slot, na na na na, Arne Slot.

Has he been announced yet? Who is he?

The next season starts, you're not waiting, you go full throttle, welcome the manager like you welcomed me. You go all in from the first day. You keep believing, you push the team, I'm one of you all now. I love you to bits.

Same, Jurgen.

What a man Jurgen Klopp is

Klopp continues:

We decide if we are worried or excited. We decide if we believe or not, trust or we don't trust. I'm one of you and I keep believing in you. I believe 100 percent.

Applause from the Anfield crowd.

"I see a lot of people crying, I will be tonight because I will miss the people as well. Change is good. Just whenever you know what to expect, if you move in with the attitude, everything will be fine, that's the team and the manager. You give a s*** what I want you to sing but I have an idea, I heard the song today and I have no problem with that, let's see what the response will be... "

"It doesn't feel like an end, it's just the start"

Jurgen Klopp looks around, smile as wide as ever.

Some of the players sing from the pitch and his wife, Ulla also joined in.

If you sing it next year that'll be funny. It doesn't feel like an end, it's just the start. Today, I seen a team full of creativity, desire, greed... That's one part of development, that's what you need but since a few weeks, I get absolutely too much attention - it feels uncomfortable. But in this time, I realised some things, people told me I turned doubters into believers, that's not true.

Believing is an act of doing it yourself, I said we had to and you did it.

No one tells you to stop believeing. Because this club is in a better moment than ever, maybe ever I have to ask Kenny (Dalglish)... since a long time. We have this wonderful stadium, wonderful training centre, we have you, the superpower of world football... wow.

"I'm so glad Jurgen is a red"

Jurgen Klopp:

The atmosphere was great, thanks for singing my song for weeks.

  • Share

"How are you feeling right now?"

Jurgen Klopp addresses the crowd:

I'm surprised, I thought I was already in pieces, I'm so happy about you all, the atmosphere, the game, being apart of the family, just this day it's incredible. Thank you so much.

Jurgen Klopp serenaded

Jurgen Klopp is the last of the departing coaching staff to enter the field of play.

As you can expect, it's a rapturous reception.

Two tables of memories are unveiled, one of the replica trophies that he has won and the other is pennants from all the European finals.

More subs

Szoboszlai and Jones are coming on.

Elliott and Gakpo make way.

Elliott has been excellent again, by the way.

  • Share

Momentum dwindling

Momentum is starting to dwindle now since the subs and there's very little urgency to proceedings here, which is entirely understandable. Pedro Neto and Hugo Bueno have come on for Wolves, meanwhile.

  • Share

Subs now on

Gravenberch, Nunez and Bradley are all on.

Mac Allister, Alexander-Arnold and Diaz go off.

  • Share

Subs arriving

Subs on their way: Nunez, Gravenberch and Bradley all about to come on.

  • Share

A third soon?

It feels like a third goal is on its way. Diaz has hit the underside of the bar and Alexander-Arnold has just played a devilish ball right into the six-yard box. Liverpool still well on top as it stands.

  • Share

Off the bar!

We're back underway for the second half at Anfield and it really could and should be 3-0!

Mac Allister had a goal disallowed for offside within seconds of the restart, but Diaz has just missed a sitter.

Gakpo intercepts a loose back pass, rounds Sa and crosses to Diaz. But he hits the underside of the bar, as the ball bounces out off the line.

Half-time ratings

Alisson Becker 7

One good stop from Hwang in an otherwise quiet first half.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 7

Found space going forward after Wolves were reduced to 10 men. Had a few sights at goal.

Jarell Quansah 8

Solid enough defensively and involved in the build-up to first goal before prodding home the second.

Virgil van Dijk 7

Too strong for Cunha inside the area and sauntered his way through things before break.

Andy Robertson 7

Took a big bang when landing awkwardly during first half but able to press forward effectively.

Wataru Endo 7

Forced Sa into a good stop and began to pick up plenty of loose balls towards interval.

Harvey Elliott 8

Another impressively busy display, his cross inviting the opener and gave Liverpool attacking momentum. Popped up on the keft occasionally, too.

Alexis Mac Allister 8

Some good challenges and neat touches early on and fine header for the first having been caught heavily by Semedo for the red-card challenge moments earlier.

Mohamed Salah 7

Began to get more joy up against Ait-Nouri, shot deflected to tee up second and twice close before break.

Cody Gakpo 7

Flick-on from corner helped initiate second goal and another decent performance leading the line.

Luis Diaz 7

Plenty of endeavour and pressing down the left and deliveries caused panic in Wolves defence.

Half time

That's half time.

Liverpool 2-0 Wolves and the visitors are down to ten men.

A decidedly end-of-season affair so far but it's been decent from the hosts.

Quansah doubles the lead

Its Jarell Quansah who makes it 2-0 as he turns home Salah's scuffed effort on the line. Two in two now for the defender.

GOAL! Liverpool 2-0 Wolves (Quansah)

And another!

Liverpool purring

Liverpool are purring here with some of the stuff they are playing. Of course it is against 10 men now but they are zipping it about superbly. Alexander-Arnold has just caught a volley from the edge of the box from Robertson's cross. It went wide.

  • Share

Lovely header

Lovely glancing header from Alexis Mac Allister who gives Harvey Elliott's in-swinging cross the finish it deserves.

GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 Wolves (Mac Allister)

It's there!

Sending off

Nelson Semedo is sent off after Chris Kavanagh checked with the monitor for a studs-up challenge on Alexis Mac Allister. Wolves fans aren't happy but it wasn't a great challenge in honesty. Wolves down to 10.
