Good Morning Britain host Rob Rinder has been left devastated following the death of his beloved grandmother.

The TV judge and criminal barrister shared a touching post on Instagram, telling his followers the sad news that he'd lost his grandma, posting a selection of photos of her life.

Rob, 45, captioned the post: "My beloved Grandma Frances passed away yesterday at 96. She adored me, her grandchildren & great grandchildren with FIERCE love. What a limitless gift it is to have had her in my life. Hold those who love you truly & unconditionally close."

He thanked social care organisation Jewish Care for helping to look after his grandmother.

One of the photos showed his grandma at an awards ceremony and another sepia-tinged image showed Frances as a young woman, smiling between two men. The other two showed Rob and his grandma hand in hand, while the other saw them smiling with each other, lying side-by-side on a bed, posing for a selfie.

Rob's celebrity mates rushed to share heartfelt condolences with their friend.

Vanessa Feltz wrote: "Oh Rob I am so sorry to hear your sad news. I wish you and your family long life and send you my deepest condolences dear friend."

Former This Morning host Ruth Langsford commented: "So sorry for your loss Rob. How wonderful to have had her, and all that love ,in your life for so long. Sending love and condolences to you and your family."

Catherine Tyldesley posted: "So sorry lovely xxx," while presenter Gaby Roslin replied: "Love you my darling." Strictly star Angela Scanlon added: "Sending you so much love xx"

Trained lawyer Rob was left overcome with emotion recently, when friend and co-star Rylan Clark admitted to having suicidal feelings after the breakdown of his marriage. A tearful Rob was setting off on a trip across Italy, for a new series on BBC Two. The pair bonded over the loss of their relationships in Venice, while they discussed the pain of their divorces over a drink.

Rylan was speaking about his split from Dan Neal in 2021, after six years of marriage. He revealed to Rob that he came close to taking his own life, leaving Rob fighting back tears.

Rylan shared: "I think it was a culmination of my marriage breaking down and actually me stopping for the first time in 10 years." He went on to reveal how he fell into a bad place, implying he made suicide attempts and developed an eating disorder. He added: "Then, all of a sudden, I hit quite a big speed bump instead of carrying on, I just sunk."

Rob also opened up, saying: "I was once so in love when I was in my early twenties, but it wasn't reciprocated. And it never has been." Rylan replied: "We're here once, we've been through quite a lot of stuff - what's it taught us? Nothing's forever unless it's right." The pair then shared a drink and joked to lighten the mood.
