“She quit because of the pressure, and everybody compared her to me…Whenever she went to competitions like ‘Oh, her sister always wins, she always wins, that’s not fair.’,” Simone Biles had said once about why her sister Adria Biles had to leave gymnastics. Despite having to quit her sport, Adria never left the side of her big sister. Since their childhood, the duo has been fighting with fire and anyone can bet. Adria can be a lot tougher when it comes to defending her elder sister! Once again, she has proved that.

Just after Core Hydration Classic dropped the curtain, Simone Biles had to take her husband Jonathan Owens’ haters at gunpoint again. The reason was the same – the disrespectful public scrutiny. However, this time, it seems Simone is not alone in her fight as sister Adria has joined her to firm the voice. After Sunday’s post of Simone Biles where she put a statutory notice for all those trolls, for “blatantly being disrespectful”, Adria came heavily augmenting Simone’s message.

 In her IG story, the former gymnast rolled down several fiery lines, sharing a screenshot of her elder sister’s notice. Claiming her elder sister “A LOT nicer”, Adria suggested the haters “to move around fr and find something better to do”. Furthering her note to such ones, Adria requested, “fix your fingers to send love and support or don’t say anything at all”. However, these words came after a series of hateful episodes that Jonathan Owens had faced after his Pivot podcast. 

In the podcast, the NFL safety had claimed, “I always say men are the catch” while talking about his relationship with Simone Biles. However, those comments irked several netizens, including Simone’s fans. Since then, a lot have happened except a stopover of taking the couple to the mercy of public judgment. 

Even in later moments, Jonathan Owens’ admission of the truth did not end the public trial episode filled with hatred. Rather, people took it as another scope to target him for being softy. However, JO, being resolute, had to justify himself to clear the air regarding his true self. In one such account, he confessed, “People judge you and they don’t have a clue about my character. If you like ask anyone about me… I like try to be a genuine person.” But was that enough to stop people judging him or his relationship with Simone Biles? Well, it wasn’t. 

Soon, Jonathan found Simone Biles siding with him, taking the fight on her own. While putting strong words directed towards those who went after her husband and her mental peace, the most decorated gymnast didn’t care to lose her fan base in subsequent turns of moments. In one such incident, she symbolically tried to seal the mouths of all those trolls by showing a leucoplast in her hands. In the background, sentences like “Simone and what’s his name again”, “whose that guy”, “leave him sis” proved her point of debate. 

However, things seem to be the same. But thankfully, Simone has her sister Adria now in this battle. In the past, sister Adria termed Simone as her “actual rock”. The fresh incident added one more page to the tale of sibling love that has stood the test of time. 

Simone Biles and Adria – a sisterhood written in the tales 

After surviving a critical childhood, Simone and Adria Biles moved together with their grandparents, Ronald and Nellie, when the couple adopted them from foster care in 2003. Since then, the shared incidents grew them up, personally and professionally. The lookalike younger sister tried her feet with Simone in gymnastics, following her lead.

Recalling one such incident from their childhood Adria had revealed, “My sister has always been fearless. When we were little kids, we’d stand on a railing on the second floor of our house, then jump off onto the couch down below on the first floor. She’d go first, and I’d follow. We were both gymnasts, so we were always trying things around the house. Nothing scared her.” On the other hand, Simone has always played the role of a big sister to a T.

“I wanted to take care of Adria obviously because she was the baby. I just felt like I needed to look out for her because if family doesn’t look out for you, who’s going to?” Simone had said once. From accompanying Simone to the Rio Olympics to being her bridesmaid, Adria has always been the alter ego of her elder sister. But the most testing point came after the Tokyo Olympics when Simone needed the help most from her close people. Adria Biles did not disappoint.

Along with Jonathan Owens, she stood beside her, thwarting every question about the Olympian’s ability. Proving that, in her hearty gesture toward Simone, Adria penned, “Thank you for being an inspiration to me and to everyone around you, thank you for making people feel valid about their feelings, thank you for being you and thank you for being the best big sister in the world.” Subsequently, she adorned Simone Biles with words like, “the best human”. In her IG story, she has already made clear that this time she won’t take any prisoner. But are the haters paying any heed to that?
