Saturday Kitchen is back for another episode today (Saturday, February 8) and it's a special one celebrating the 40th anniversary of EastEnders.

Matt Tebbutt will be hosting as usual with guests including Adam Woodyatt, Diane Parish, Emma Barton and Jacqueline Jossa from the soap.

As a result, the dishes cooked up today will have the theme of being related to East London cuisine.

A synopsis on the Radio Times shares: "Chefs Theo Randall and Dipna Anand rustle up recipes, with Helen McGinn picking the drinks to go with Jean Slater's Sausage Surprise or Beale's Plaice and Chips."

Sausage surprise

This casserole dish contains three types of sausages in Toulouse, fennel and kielbasa.

It also includes a pork and beans component, with 200g of pork belly and 200g of dried white cannellini beans, soaked overnight.

Overall, it serves four people and will take more than two hours to make.

Haddock and chips with curry sauce

In a synopsis, it states: "Sometimes all you want after a hectic week is a deep-fried British classic – fish, chips and chip-shop curry sauce."

The dish serves two people and involves making your own chips from six to eight potatoes, duck fat and plenty of seasoning.

Additionally, there are steps to make your own chip shop curry sauce which features butter, curry powder, vegetable stock and celery among other ingredients.

Overall, it should take around one to two hours to make it.



Speedy Korean-inspired beef bowls with cucumber salad

In a synopsis, it states: "This protein-packed dish can be put together in under half an hour so is perfect for a post-gym boost."

Ingredients include 500g of beef mince, hoisin sauce, spring onion, rice, two fried free-range eggs and very finely chopped fresh root among others.

Posh pie and mash

In a synopsis, it states: "A fillet steak pie, with a puffed pastry disk, parsley mash and a red wine jus. Could this be your Valentine's Day dish?"

The recipe has three components in mashed potato, fillet steak and red wine jus, which will all be packaged up in shop-bought puff pastry.

It should take less than 30 minutes to prepare and around 10 to 30 minutes to cook.
