James May has discussed the cameo he made in a Bengali TV show and how it was a lot more than he was expecting.
The presenter made a brief appearance in the drama Yuganayak Swami Vivekananda when he was filming the Amazon Prime show Our Man in India.
May was appearing on the Channel 4 show Sunday Brunch when the topic of the guests making brief appearances in films and TV was brought up.
Musical guest Maya Delilah had worked as an extra on the Star Wars TV show Andor and guests Krept and Konan had appeared in the 2016 film The Intent.
May's cameo in Yuganayak Swami Vivekananda was also mentioned which he gave a bit of insight to.

May said the request was made to appear on the show when he was filming Our Man in India.
He initially didn't expect too much from it thinking he would have a role driving a taxi or being a shopkeeper.
May shared: "They made me this Scottish professor of Divinity."
He continued: "I tried to do it in Bengali but I couldn't so I was subtitled as an English speaker who can't do a Scottish accent and nobody noticed."
Sunday Brunch host Tim Lovejoy then joked: "I wouldn't bother getting an agent".
The clip of May acting went viral back in 2023 where his character discussed William Wordsworth’s famous poem “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud”.
At the time of this occurring plenty of people were quite surprised to see May's random appearance, as seen in comments on the r/GrandTour Reddit page.
A post with the caption: "Excuse me what" showed a brief part of May's cameo.
