Two arrested for drug and driving offences around city centre

Two men have been detained by a team of officers based around the city centre

Two men have been arrested for drugs and driving offences. A 22-year-old man was arrested around 7pm yesterday (Sunday) in Montague Street, after disobeying an order to stop for police.

After a short pursuit, he was detained and more than a dozen wraps of Class A and B drugs were found. The man was arrested for possession of Class A and B drugs with intent to supply, failing to stop, dangerous driving, and driving without insurance.


Then, around 3am on Monday (Feb 10), officers spotted a man acting suspiciously in Soho Road in Handsworth. A 23-year-old man was detained with cash and Class A drugs seized during a search.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply. Both men remain in custody for questioning this afternoon (February 10).

The men were arrested by the Op Skybridge team which is made up of plain clothed and uniformed officers who target those suspected to be involved in robbery, burglary and drug crime.
