More than 1,200 roles will be available at a jobs fair hosted by Manchester Airport.

The event, which will take place at Wythenshawe Forum on Thursday, February 27, will offer opportunities in various sectors, including airport security and hospitality.

The free event will run from 10am to 1pm, and attendees will have the chance to speak to employers operating on-site to learn more about a career at the airport.

Manchester Airports Group (MAG), which owns and operates Manchester Airport, is advertising around 250 vacancies in areas such as airport security, lounge hospitality, and terminal operations.

Other employers who will be represented at the fair include airlines such as Jet2.com and Ascend Airways, retailers and franchise operators such as Boots, JD Sports, and Estee Lauder Companies, and airport service providers such as Dnata Catering and Swissport.

The Airport Academy, which is run in partnership with Manchester Airport and Trafford & Stockport College Group, will also attend, promoting its free pre-employment support programmes.

These include fully accredited training schemes for those on Jobseekers’ Allowance who require additional support before applying for jobs.

Entry to the event must be booked in advance through Eventbrite.

Many of the jobs will be in the redeveloped Terminal 2, which is set to open in full later this year after a 10-year, £1.3bn investment.

Chris Woodroofe, managing director of Manchester Airport, said: "At Manchester Airport we are proud to serve the North - and that doesn’t just mean helping get people to the places they want to fly to.

"It also means fulfilling our role as a major employer in the region, giving local people the chance to access a range of rewarding careers and helping people earn money that boosts the North’s economy.

“We have hosted a number of these events in recent years as the airport’s operations have continued to grow.

"More than 1,300 people came to our most recent jobs fair in November and we got great feedback from employers.

"2025 is an exciting time to be embarking on a career at Manchester Airport, with the culmination of our decade-long programme to transform the airport now almost upon us.

"If you want this to be the year where your career takes off, we’d love to see you at Wythenshawe Forum later this month."

Cllr John Hacking, executive member for skills, employment and leisure at Manchester City Council, said: "We are thrilled to partner with MAG to bring this exciting jobs fair to the Wythenshawe Forum.

"With hundreds of roles available across various sectors, including customer service, administration, and security, this event is a great way for Manchester residents to connect with employers, particularly with the new T2 opening later this year.

"This initiative plays a vital role in supporting our local economy and helping individuals take the next step in their careers.”

Jobseekers securing roles with MAG can take advantage of benefits such as discounts on public transport, free on-site car parking, and retail discounts.
