Sam Thompson has seemingly moved on after his split from ex-girlfriend Zara McDermott, who's reportedly now dating Louis Tomlinson.

The unexpected pairing sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry when they were spotted on a romantic date recently.

However, Zara, 28, isn't the only one who's moved on.

According to a source speaking to the Mirror, Sam, 32, is back in the dating game, having "accepted" his breakup from Zara "a long time ago".

The insider said: "Sam has been making jokes about his life since the break up, and that's not really something you'd be doing if you were experiencing total heartbreak.

"Of course they were sad, but they sort of accepted it a long time ago."

They continued: "He has been going out and having fun again, he's not in a steady relationship but he's been on dates.

" He's been socialising with the Chelsea crowd and spending time with Pete [Wicks] a lot.

"He's really enjoying himself at the moment but doesn't want to be tied down."

Touching on Zara's reported new romance, the source added: "Zara likes being in love - she went on Love Island, after all!, reports the Mirror.

"Like most people, she enjoys being in a happy relationship and if they're someone who understands what it's like to be in the public eye, that's even better.

"She feels like she's hit the jackpot with Louis."

Zara and Louis sparked rumours of a budding romance after they were seen enjoying an intimate dinner in Suffolk.

The Strictly Come Dancing star, who parted ways with Sam in December, was spotted on a date with the Faith In The Future singer.

However, it's said that the pair are taking their time to get to know each other.

Details about Zara and Louis' new relationship remain scant, but speculation began a few weeks ago when observant fans noticed that they had started following each other on social media.

Louis' sisters Lottie, Daisy and Phoebe also follow the documentary maker and Strictly star on Instagram, and Zara reciprocates the follows.

Zara, who reportedly informed Sam about her new relationship with Louis before it became public knowledge, moved out of the home she shared with the Made In Chelsea star earlier this year.

As for the reason behind their split, it appears they were moving in different directions.

A source claimed at the time that they were both concentrating on their careers.

Zara is currently working on a new documentary and focusing on her profitable role as an influencer.

Meanwhile, Sam, who was crowned the winner of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2023, is concentrating on his popular podcast with friend Pete Wicks.

The Made In Chelsea celebrity spoke candidly about the comfort he receives from his family amidst his breakup, sharing with The Mirror: "One of my biggest comforts, if I'm ever going through a hard time, is my neighbours next door.

"I live my life at a very fast pace and there's a lot going on, so when I go to their place it's just such a family unit and it's a beautiful place to be.

" Louise is running after Leo, my nephew, and Ryan's running after Louise - it's all manic madness, but it's so warm and cosy and lovely. I'm very, very lucky to have my sister as my neighbour."
