Funniest JFK files memes as Americans left underwhelmed by latest assassination paper release
JFK was killed by Ted Cruz's father from the grassy knoll, confirmed. But Hitler might have been the second shooter. If only to prevent the president from snitching on Hilary Clinton.
The latest release of top secret files on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy might have been light on smoking guns but it was heavy on fuel for the meme making machine.
In response to the 80,000 pages of new material being released by the National Archives, meme lords took to social media to relentlessly poke fun at the documents for their remarkable resemblance to a similar drop by Joe Biden in 2015.
Several of the posts pointed to previous comments made by President Trump in his first race for the White House in 2016 concerning Ted Cruz' father Rafael playing a role in the death of JFK.
Making fun of the 2016 story, one meme shared online had added 'Ted Cruz' Dad reported as shooter' into one of the documents.
Another post shows a whole page of text redacted beside three words that say 'Ted Cruz's Dad'.
Trump's comments about Cruz came after The National Inquirer had published a picture of Lee Harvey Oswald, JFK's shooter, handing out pro-Castro literature in New Orleans.
At the time, the outlet had claimed that a man lurking in the background and also handing out leaflets was Cruz.

On Tuesday, the latest trove of bombshell documents were released by the National Archives

Several of the posts pointed to previous comments made by President Trump in his first race for the White House in 2016 concerning Ted Cruz ' father Rafael

The National Inquirer had published a picture of Lee Harvey Oswald, JFK's shooter, handing out pro-Castro literature in New Orleans alongside a man they said was Cruz
Both Cruzes denied the report, but not until after Trump had made it a national political story.
At the time, Rafael Cruz said: 'It's ludicrous. It's ludicrous. I was never in New Orleans at that time.
'That's typical of Donald Trump – just attack and make all kinds of innuendo and attacks with no substance.'
Another post showed an AI generated image of Nazi Germany dictator Adolf Hitler clutching a rifle while aiming from a window, seemingly at JFK.
The post reads: 'BREAKING: the JFK have implicated involvement of Adolf Hitler in the assassination of JFK.'
Others showed a photoshopped White House documented that was dated July 1963 which reads: 'To Whom It May Concern:

A photoshopped document also added comments about Hillary Clinton and alluded to Elon Musk as part of the memes about the release
'I have information that will lead to the arrest of Hillary Clinton', the fake document was also finished with President Kennedy's signature.
Another similar styled meme was also posted online, with the same format but the text had been changed to: 'To whom it may concern:
'Never trust a South African car salesperson', in a direct jab at 'First Buddy' and Tesla CEO Elon Musk who is now a close advisor to President Trump.
Another absurd post also reads: 'CIA files reveal JFK was killed by Seed Oils', which have long been the target of JFK's nephew Robert F Kennedy Jr.
The newly selected health secretary has frequently pushed claims that seed oils are linked to chronic diseases.
One other meme shared a picture of a Spongbob Squarepants character on his knees, with his fist in hand.
The caption added: '"Nothing ever happen" bros seeing the JFK files get released.'

Another absurd post also claims that seed oils had been responsible for the death of JFK

JFK was killed Nov. 22, 1963, on a visit to Dallas, when his motorcade was finishing its parade route downtown and shots rang out.
Police arrested 24-year-old Lee Harvey Oswald, who had positioned himself from a sniper’s perch on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository building.
Oswald was killed two days later by nightclub owner Jack Ruby during a jail transfer, sparking a conspiracy theory that he was offed to stop him talking to investigators.
A year after the assassination, the Warren Commission, which president Johnson established to investigate, concluded that Oswald acted alone.
That final outcome hasn't done anything to quell a whole web of alternative theories over the decades.
One of the most popular theories asserts there was a second gunman who fired shots at JFK from a now-iconic 'grassy knoll' to the right of his car as it passed by.
No definitive proof of that claim has ever been shared.
More than 63,000 pages of records related to the 1963 assassination of president Kennedy were released Tuesday following an order by President Donald Trump, many without the redactions that had confounded historians for years and helped fuel conspiracy theories.
The US National Archives and Records Administration posted to its website roughly 2,200 files containing the documents.
They included typewritten reports and handwritten notes spanning decades, including details of a top CIA agent who claimed the deep state was responsible, Oswald being a 'poor shot' and that Secret Service had been warned Kennedy would be killed in August, three months before the murder.
The rollout of the files stunned Trump's national security team, who spent 24 hours racing to assess security hazards ahead of publication.
The vast majority of the National Archives’ collection of over 6 million pages of records, photographs, motion pictures, sound recordings and artifacts related to the assassination have previously been released.
Before Tuesday, researchers had estimated that 3,000 to 3,500 files were still unreleased, either wholly or partially. And just last month the FBI said it had discovered about 2,400 new records related to the assassination.
