Peppa Pig's mum reveals gender of new baby and everyone is saying the same thing
Mummy Pig announced the gender of the new baby
The gender of the new baby on Peppa Pig has been revealed, ahead of a cinema experience showing preparations for the arrival of the baby.
The animated children's show, which has followed the story of Peppa, who lives with Daddy Pig, Mummy Pig and her little brother George, for more than two decades, announced that a new addition would be joining the cartoon family back in February.
Mummy Pig appeared on Good Morning Britain on February 27 to share the news with viewers.
Richard Arnold interviewed Peppa's mum during an entertainment segment.
"I'm excited to share that our family is getting even bigger because we're having another baby! I'm due in the summer, and we're all so excited," shared Peppa's mum at the time.
On Friday evening, the Battersea Power Station chimneys in London will be lit up in pink to celebrate that Mummy Pig is expecting a baby girl.
Ahead of the announcement viewers were already saying the same thing.
On X, one user wrote: "This country is so unserious".
Another added something similar, saying: "We are not a serious country".
However, some shared their excitement leading up to the gender reveal, with one user writing: "Being a parent means you get excited about absolutely bat sh*t things like this".
At Battersea Power Station, visitors will be able to find the Peppa Pig store, which is fundraising in support of National Children's Trust (NCT), the UK's leading charity for pregnancy and parents.
Viewers can expect to see the new baby on screen in the autumn, but the animated show announced that Peppa Meets The Baby, an hour-long format will come out on May 30.
The song-filled screening features 10 brand-new episodes, as Peppa and George prepare for the arrival of their baby sister.
On May 3, the gender reveal episode will air on YouTube as part of the Peppa Pig Tales series.
Peppa Pig began in 2004 on Channel 5 Milkshake and Nick Jr, and has been a global success with theme parks in the UK and around the world. The series has even featured on collectable Royal Mail stamps.
The show was co-created by Neville Astley and Mark Baker, from the animation studio Astley Baker Davies, and has been broadcast in over 40 languages in more than 180 territories.
The show was acquired by toy company Hasbro in 2019 as part of its purchase of Entertainment One’s brands.
