Heavy police presence as man arrested as part of harassment investigation

A man has been arrested on suspicion of harassment in Bristol.

Around 4pm yesterday, Thursday, April 24, officers arrested a man in his 30s on Withywood Road.

The man was arrested on suspicion of harassment as part of an ongoing police investigation.

At the time of the incident, a witness told BristolLive there was a large police presence in the area.

They said: "Do you know what was going on around Withywood?

"Between Queen's Road and Hareclive Road.

"[There was] police everywhere."

At the time of reporting, the man remains in police custody.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police has said: “Shortly after 4pm yesterday (24 April), officers arrested a man aged in his 30s in Withywood Road on suspicion of harassment as part of an ongoing police investigation.

"The man remains in police custody.”
